FoxNews: "Democrat Presidential Candidate Debate"
LOL Can you believe this? They actually called it "Democrat" presidential debate--instead of "Democratic". Is that supposed to be some sort of slight? How biased can a news channel get? Do they think people won't notice?

1. That pissed me off too!
Intentional wordplay by the right - disassociating Democrats from democracy. And now the right's prime media mouthpiece aids in the effort. I am not surprised, but I sure am mad.

3. This is lame
Individual members of the Democratic party are called Democrats, but a debate has more than one person. They are definitely slighting our candidates by calling the debate the Democrat Debate.

5. Newt Gingrich started it many years ago.
I guess they think it is smart. But it shows how dumb they are.

If they would look in the dictionary that would see that democrat is a noun so to put it with party to make it an adjective the correct word would be democratic.

The word republican is already an adjective as well as a noun so the word can be used with party as is.

7. Actually, a southern racist...
A southern racist Democratic senator started railing against "Democrat leaders in Washington" in the 40's or so and that caught on as a slight of sorts. I researched it a while ago out of curiosity. I think as linguistic tricks go, it's pretty weak though.

8. Didn't know it had that history, but I read that Gingrich
and his gang started it in earnest when they thought they had the world by the tail.

6. Would Someone Please Remember...
...That if Democrats (and the Democratic Party) win the 2004 election, it's time to create "America's BBC" with a (modest) television license fee. Let Murdoch compete against that.
