OUR taxes at work: US Post Office memento for bush/cheny (PHOTO)
Edited on Thu Jan-13-05 03:10 PM by diamond14

Image provided by the U.S. Postal Service of an envelope bearing photos of Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney (news - web sites), part of a special inaugural keepsake commemorative package. The envelope, designed to look like a presidential campaign postcard from the early 1900s, will carry a Jan. 20 postmark. Also included in the $11.95 keepsake set will be an 'Old Glory' booklet containing 20 stamps featuring the U.S. flag plus a narrative and nearly 100 photos illustrating the nation's heritage. 3. your taxes do not fund the usps
anymore. unless they are lying about that, which would not surprise me. but they have been a self sustaining entitiy for many years.

6. ok, the only mention i could find,
on the website was this small comment-

Significant Dates in Postal History

1982 - Last year Postal Service accepted public service subsidy

http://www.usps.com/postalhistory/significant_dates_in_postal_history.htm

really, they pay their own way. they still answer to congress, but they are legally revenue neutral. maybe they have hidden subsidies, but they are not supposed to.

7. Relax people, this isn't something special done for Bushco
The postal service does this sort of shit all the time for inagurations and other special dates. They did this for Clinton, BushI, Reagan, etc etc. And hey, it actually makes the post office money.
