Where is Condoleezza Rice?

She is supposed to become the new Secretary of State, and she has been completely out of sight for weeks now.

At a time when we are in a huge mess in almost every place imaginable, starting with Iraq, Iran, North Korea, Israel, Ukraine, and the largest humanitarian crisis in a long time, shouldn't she be out front beginning to lead on some of these issues? Isn't that what the SoS is supposed to do?

Instead, we're leading with stuff like the Colin Powell / Jeb Bush dog-and-pony show, and planning to party in DC like there's no tomorrow.

On second thought, maybe there WILL be no tomorrow.

But if we make it to next week, we'll be treated to some confirmation hearings on c-span in which Ted Kennedy and a few other Dems will ask her a few tough questions, then tell her what a great person she is and slap down the Bushco rubber stamp.
