what a joke:
http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=795&e=3&u=/eo/20050114/en_music_eo/15706

they got nothing. real artists wouldn't touch a chimpy inaugural concert with a 10 foot pole.

i like the part about kid rock being ousted because of the lyrics of one of his songs where he mentions barbara bush.

of their albums again now.

You must know them:

KRYPTONITE

I took a walk around the world to
ease my troubled mind
I left my body laying somewhere
in the sands of time
I watched the world float to the dark
side of the moon
I feel there is nothing i can do, yeah

I watched the world float to the
dark side of the moon
after all I knew it had to be something
to do with you
I really don't mind what happens now and then
as long as you'll my friend at the end

If I go crazy then will you still
call me Superman
if I'm alive and well, will you be
there holding my hand
I'll keep you by my side with
my superhuman might
kryptonite

(snip)

Or the more recent song:

HERE WITHOUT YOU

A hundred days had made me older
Since the last time that I saw your pretty face
A thousand lights had made me colder
And I don’t think I can look at this the same
But all the miles had separate
They disappeared now when I’m dreaming of your face

I’m here without you baby but your still on my lonely mind
I think about you baby and I dream about you all the time
I’m here without you baby but your still with me in my dreams
And tonight it’s only you and me

The miles just keep rolling as the people either way to say hello
I hear this life is overrated but I hope it gets better as we go

I’m here without you baby but your still on my lonely mind
I think about you baby and I dream about you all the time
I’m here without you baby but your still with me in my dreams
And tonight girl it’s only you and me

3 Doors Down has accomplished a lot in its brief existence, but Arnold says the best experience was performing for U.S. troops in Europe and the Middle East a few months a go.

"I was on stage 150 yards from the Persian Gulf, and I like to touch every body of water that I go near, and someone said, 'Don't put your hand in that, dude. That water is nasty.' But we went to places that I never thought I would see. It was amazing. We played on the deck of an aircraft carrier on the coast of Portugal. There's a lot of brave men out there."

So all of this travel has made Arnold pretty vocal about the war on terrorism.

"I think we should have taken care of this a long time ago, so we gotta take care of this now," he says. "I mean, people don't believe in war, but you really have to look at this. I was being interviewed by some guy in Germany, and he said, 'Do you know some people think George Bush is a bigger threat than Saddam Hussein?' and I said, 'What the *$#@ are you talking about? You have to realize we are the daddy of the world. And the daddy can't be the nice guy all of the time. If we don't take care of things like this, we won't pay as a country; we'll pay for it as a world."

Pride, Shame, Confusion Abound As War Reactions Surface
03.20.2003

Brad Arnold, like his 3 Doors Down bandmates, has been outspoken in his support of the soldiers, but he doesn't want to see mass destruction. "I have all the confidence in the world in our troops," he said. "Nobody wants war, short of someone who's insane. We all know what war brings, and that's what we're gonna try to minimalize. We don't want any loss of life, we just want an evil man gone."

38. You know what?
There are a lot of better bands out there to support. Ones that actually have working brains. I don't mind letting this one go in light of the current turn toward the sheeple mentality. It's a shame they drank the kool-aid.

I'm sure it will be reflected in their new music anyway. :puke:

Lee Atwater was a serious fan of the blues and had:

Here is the lineup:

B.B. King, Bo Diddley, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Percy Sledge, Joe Cocker, Delbert McClinton, Steve Cropper, Joe Louis Walker and Sam Moore.

I mean, wow!

He had his crew watch "Farenheit 9/11". Not a big Bush fan.

But 3 Doors Down are his buddies.

24. Hope this doesn't bust any bubbles, but...
...I definitely received a call on election day featuring a recorded message from Dale Earnhardt Jr. urging me to get out and vote for "the Republican team." He didn't specifically mention *, but nearly anyone would have been left with the impression that he was supporting him. If he wasn't, he certainly demonstrated poor judgment in recording that specific message.
