It is time to push for "Impeaching" Bush again. This time, it might work. |
|
It looks like a backlash against Bush is coming due to his little announcement that there was no weapons of mass destruction. A lot of people are now realizing that they were duped. For us, it's no big deal because we had figured this out a long time ago BUT for the masses this announcement is a big deal. Notice how this came AFTER Bush manged to pull off the theft of the election 2004.
The thread where it quoted all the NASCAR fans "railing" on Bush has convinced me that we have a lot more people on our side now.
Does anybody have a link to one of the "Impeach Bush" petitions?

1. better to push for a pullout from Iraq |
|
there's evidence that could happen. A Gallup poll showed a turning point in support for the war, and just yesterday a group of dems started the ball rolling with a letter to Bush demanding planning to start for a pullout as soon as possible.

6. actually, it's the HOUSE that's the problem |
|
with the repukes running things, an impeachment would never get to the Senate.

4. Appreciate the sentiment.... |
|
even support it. It may be a little optimistic though to actually believe it is possible. With the repug congress, and a significant ways to go to turn it around to being Dem that would be a long shot. I do think applying pressure of this sort can help achieve shorter term goals of keeping the anointed one in check. The weaker we keep the presidency and the executive branch, as a whole, the better off we'll be and the less long term damage he can incur on the world. It also encourages other repug congressman to freelance since they would have less to fear from the executive branch. This can work 2 ways, both somewhat to our advantage...some will get more extreme, allowing us to paint them as a party of extremists and * as a failed leader because of his inability to keep them in check, some will follow their more moderate leanings, allowing us to actually occasionally achieve some level of decent policy making and good governance without the aid of the POTUS. He would be reduced to just sayin' "me too".

8. The congressman are whores and will turn on Bush in a minute IF.... |
|
they see that the public has turned against him and they might not be re-elected. Most of the Repubs in Congress are not really that fond of Bush and a tired of being bullied and pushed around by him.

Who's gonna impeach him? The Republican House or the Republican Senate??? He's safe. There's no way that can happen.
