21. Schwans sells something similar, for you midwesterners
They're called Cheese and Herb biscuits. I find they are very close to Red Lobsters and very easy to make.

The only question is whether or not Schwans is a big contributor to any political parties.

13. Here you go- here is the recipe
Red Lobster Cheddar Bay Biscuits
Source: Orlando Sentinel Newspaper

2 cups Bisquick
2/3 cup milk
1/2 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
1/2 cup butter or margarine, melted
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

Preheat oven to 450 degrees F.

Mix Bisquick, milk and cheese until a soft dough forms. Drop by spoonsful onto an ungreased cooking sheet. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes until golden brown. Mix butter and garlic powder. Brush mixture over warm biscuits before removing from cookie sheet.

Now you don't have to go there again.

Here is a link to a site that has "copycat" recipes of all your chain place faves- since most of them are red, you can make them at home and spend your hard earned money at blue businesses.

7. Despite just eating lunch out today, I can't imagine why anyone would
want to eat at a chain restaurant.

IMHO, all the food tastes the same - bland.

Maybe it's because I do all the cooking in my house, but I am disappointed every time I go to a restaurant. It's even worse when I take the kids out and watch the waiter throw half of their meals out.

5. That food comes frozen in big cardboard boxes
and is reheated in the restaurant. How else could they get it so uniform from restaurant to restaurant?

If you want frozen food, it's cheaper at the Safeway! (or, your blue company preference!)

11. definitely not Safeway...
Safeway Inc
Dems: 16% $23,456
Reps: 84% $123,144

They're more biased to the republicans than Walmart is...

But then again, the whole grocery industry is pretty red, gotta look into getting that costco card...

23. That's funny
Just the other day I found myself in an Arby's for the first time in many years. I was shocked by the all-around positive feel of the establishment. The employees were all laughing and having fun, the managers were smiling and visable, and the store was super clean and organized.

It was a very uncommon feel for a fast food restaurant and I was kind of taken back by it. It's interesting to now learn that they are a "blue" restaurant.

27. There's too much seafood in Houston to miss Red Lobster.....
Outback Steakhouse does a pretty good prime rib, but I'll skip it. (Medium rare, with a caesar salad, baked potato & glass of Shiraz...oh, well.)

However, the Fattest City in the Country has no shortage of local restaurants.

29. Not too much meaning

I don't know what issue is pushing the restaurants that far to the right. But most industries have some form of regulation. And they give money to the people that oversee the regulation. If you will look to what state a company is headquartered in or does substantial business in you can come up with their numbers without the web page. They are going to give to their home state congressional delegation, they are going to give more to the one that represents the district they are in, they are going to give to the chairman of whatever congressional and state committees oversee their industry. They are going to give money to the current governor. All of this is regardless of party. Yes there are companies with a defiant political stance but most are just buying access and protecting their interests.
