There are "uninformed" Americans. And "ignorant" Amercians. But THIS ONE
is a FOX NEWS American. HAS to be. That is the ONLY POSSIBLE answer to her incredible and complete stupidity.

Yes there were weapons

Editor -- The United States has ended the hunt for weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, with the press here and abroad describing the effort as an abject failure that turned up no evidence whatsoever that Saddam Hussein had possessed such weapons.

Oh, really?

Then what about the 1.8 tons of partially enriched uranium Hussein had socked away? Its purpose, no doubt, was to be used in a so-called "dirty bomb. " This discovery was considered by Energy Secretary Spencer Abraham to be "a major achievement" in an attempt to "keep potentially dangerous nuclear material out of the hands of terrorists."

Moreover, 10 or 12 sarin and mustard rounds of poison gas were found last June.

And let's not forget those 30 Iraqi jet fighters that weapons searchers found buried in the sand at an airfield west of Baghdad. Planes aren't typically buried unless someone is trying to deny access to them.

I hope President Bush, instead of focusing on poor intelligence-gathering, points out these finds to the American people.

The good that has come from Saddam Hussein's removal is not diminished by the intent of the left to discredit.

ALISON SHURTLEFF

GOOD GRIEF!

1. I presume all readers of DU are fully informed as to the FACT that the YELLOWCAKE at Tuwaitha plant in Iraq was safely kept UNDER UN SEAL FOR 12 YEARS until bush IGNORED the IAEA's pleas to ensure the site was kept secured during bush's invasion.

For freepofascist lurkers who may possibly be as dumb as Alison, links to the FACTS;

2. DEBUNKED. Obviously Alison watched Fox News, coz they are the ONLY "media" who didn't ever bother carrying "Oops we didn't find em" retractions.

Warheads found in Iraq not chemical weapons, military says

http://www.spacewar.com/2004/040702181116.ctvlrxgf.html

3. Iraq was ALLOWED to have fighter jets; they were NEVER a part of the UN prohibited items.

4. Why Alison! Are you calling BUSH A LIAR??? Coz ya do know BUSH HIMSELF has admitted publicly that Iraq had no WMD?

Bush, Cheney admit Iraq had no WMD, take new tack

Bush, Cheney Finally Admit Saddam Had No WMDs

5. Dear Alison, you stupid little fool, just WHEN did CHENEY and POPPA BUSH and BRENT SCOWCROFT et al become the "LEFT"???

A list, dear Alison, of all those "LEFT" who are only trying to "discredit" your bush-god;

Yes, ALison MUST be a Fox News watcher. No one else is as totally stupid as they.

1. Alison is clearly stupid and insane
incapable of learning and unable to distinguish fact from fiction.

How can you teach those who refuse to learn?

2. Will you write to the editor?
and insist they run your letter or provide some other legitimate information on the subject? For them to run a letter such as that without an explanation of the facts is irresponsible. It's one thing for a reader to express an opinion. It's another thing for her to present false information as though it were factual.

4. Please DUers. Be viligant with me. The Bushistas are up to no
good. Bush has never admitted a mistake and now he goes on Barbara Walters and admits two. Oh, sure! My take mat be wrong, but I think old Georgie now that he has outdone the old man and found out that Iraq will not be a legacy in any history book (or at least not one anyone would care to have) wants to pass more tax laws for himself and his cronies and most of all change Social Security. Another legacy that would undoubtedly befoul any history book. I want him indicted and jailed, preferably in Abu Ghrab.

8. That is point for point what Hannity said on his radio show yesterday.
Edited on Fri Jan-14-05 08:03 PM by Stirk
It's even in the same order.

I expect Shurtleff is just another blissfully brainwashed conservative, repeating the talking points and calling herself an "independent thinker". If you do write a response LTTE, it might be worth including that fact. It's certainly illustrative of a larger problem.

10. I actually heard one of these kind of folks
admit that he "really doesn't understand politics" but repeats verbatim what he hears and people think he's "really smart". I find this scary, not just in the fact that people do this, but are really proud of not thinking for themselves.

9. Saddam was starting an underground Air Force.
Those buried planes were going to burrow through the earth, pop up in Northern Virginia, and destroy the Pentagon with all those WMD.

Seriously, all the repukes are now spouting this same Hannity style line, so I give them the above answer.

Something else; Every few days I meet someone who says Iraq attacked us on 9-11, or our troops are in Iraq protecting our freedoms.
