18 Decapitated GIs in Iraq.
This is new to me. Haven't heard of it elsewhere in the Corporate Media.

More Heavy US Losses,
Including 18 Decapitated GIs
Mujahideen Strike Heavy In Ramadi And Basra
By Omar Al-Faris
JUS
1-13-5

Mujahideen continued to target American occupiers and Iraqi collaborators throughout Iraq on Tuesday. Fierce fighting took place in Ramadi with large number of American casualties reported. Basra was also hot with reports of a rocket attack that took the life of some British soldiers. In the mean time, Americans also discovered 18 bodies of their comrades that had been beheaded in Fallujah,

5. Well, would you believe a soldier stationed in Iraq?
My neighbor's son has told her (although he never mentioned specifically decapited soldiers) that the number of KIAs and dead from other means is far greater than we are being told. that is one reason no photos are allowed of flag-drapped coffins coming into Dover or elsewhere.

8. Rense is just as good as the story's primary source.
Edited on Fri Jan-14-05 11:53 PM by Minstrel Boy
This one's from "Jihad Unspun," which I suspect to be a COINTELPRO operation. So I don't trust it.

Rense is just a portal. It does have some good stuff. (Well, I have to say that - it's picked up some stories from my blog: http://www.rense.com/general61/things.htm, for instance, though it buggered up the links. My original piece is here.) But it's also rather indiscrimiate. When considering a Rense story, use your judgement, and go to the primary source.

9. IMHO, it's pretty hard to hide the dead for more than a few days
Damn near every GI in Iraq has a relative.

12. Yes, but if no one is doing the adding then the total won't be known
It could be one of those things that MSM has been required to ignore.

10. the only story I can find like this is that
the bodies of 18 shiite men had been found beheaded the first week of
January, they were apparently kidnapped after looking for work at a U.S. base. But if it's real it will show up elsewhere soon.

11. We've seen a lot of threads like these
70 GI's killed in one day battle. Twenty GI's captured. They never turn out to be even close to true, so let's chew on a very big grain of salt.

I'm old enough to remember in 1967 when the Egyptian Army was completely destroyed and the remnants were retreating across the Suez Canal and the Arab press was running stories about the Egyptian Army approaching Jeruselum.

Then there was the 1973 war where the Israelis had crossed the canal and surrounded the Egyptian Third Army on the eastern side of the canal, but the Egyptian soldiers kept walking into captivity because they didn't even know they were surrounded since the press was telling them they were advancing victoriously. They just thought the supplies were slow coming up.

Then there was the Iraqi press secretary. He was something else.

13. A website that has spoken about beheaded servicemen is TBR.org.
Their twice-weekly "Voice from the White House" column (from a supposed White House insider) has been talking about this for a while as retaliation for the US stand on the Geneva Convention/Abu Ghraib/Gitmo. He claims there have been lots of mutilations and desecrations that this is being kept hush-hush by the administration. He also says that the official body count is vastly undercounted and challenges people to post the "official" list and identify discrepancies.

I guess we'll never know until and if we pull out of Iraq and families don't get their loved ones back. Only then will we know if it's true or not.

How much credibility does the White House person have on TBR?

15. I read there early war "reports" where they claimed American casualties...
numbered in the "tens of thousands." It's just a site written by Russians. During the Balkan conflicts I remember them writing endlessly about the good of Serbian conquests.
