1. Watch Fox
they'll give ya all the "facts". No one else is really concerned about it, just Fox.

The religious right has been after the UN for years, something to do with one world government crap. The annointed at Fox want to bang the UN drum because the rapture is coming and the UN is evil I guess. Those people make me laugh, if they get raptured I'm taking their stuff.

3. to be honest
the real way to argue that point is to show them the reason Fox does what it does. Tell them about the right-wing agenda, based on the Falwell's and the Robertson's, and it's attacks on the UN. Show them that Fox is actually a mouth piece for those wacky bastards. The only person making billions off of Iraq id Bush, Cheney, and the companies they support. Whatever scandal, if any the UN is involved in pails in comparison with the deaths of 1300 Americans in a war for nothing. When they discuss Oil for Food scandal ask the about the Soldier for Oil Scandal happening in our own country.

US Ignored Warning on Iraqi Oil Smuggling (January 13, 2005)

The Financial Times exposes US hypocrisy in the Oil-for-Food scandal and claims the "single largest and boldest smuggling operation in the Oil-for-Food programme was conducted with the knowledge of the US government." US President George Bush has threatened to hold back US dues if the world body does not take adequate measures following the Volcker investigation. Meanwhile, Washington violated UN oil sanctions and turned a blind eye to illegal oil smuggling to Jordan "in recognition of its national interests."

5. Check out a combination of
St. Eustatius + oil + transfer

If my memory is right - there was something about the U.S. transferring shipments of oil from Iraq (during the embargo) at St. Eustatius in the Caribbean. Cheney's name was mentioned in the article.

If not Eustatius, could be a nearby island.
