Give Sen. Boxer questions to grill Rice at confirmation
Senator Boxer has pledged to question Condi about the administrations Iraq and Al Qaeda lies, and even put up a petition on her PAC page to gather signatures in support.

http://www.pacforachange.com/petition

Most of my questions revolve around her claim tha they had no idea terrorists would use planes as weapons.

That is a bald-faced lie not only because of that August 6 PDB, but also because a nearly identical plot, Operation Bojinka, was foiled during the Clinton years.

Come up with some more specifics. If Boxer asks a third of the questions people have, it will at least make the Bushies squirm.

4. Gonzales
Gonzales
If I might piggyback this issue-
Tell Your Senator and Members of the Judiciary: Vote Your Values, Reject Gonzales
A reminder: keep the pressure on Senate Judiciary Cmte members by telling them to vote no on Alberto Gonzales.
Since LiberalOasis noted on Monday that key Dems remain publicly on the fence (and in turn, needed a big grassroots push), there’s been no change to that dynamic.
Values are not a mere buzzword to toss around.
They are “the foundation”. They are what you hold most dear. They “guide” your policies and actions every day.
So, if rejection of torture really is a value – a value that distinguishes Democrats from Republicans – it would dictate your vote on Gonzales.

5. I contacted them all
My letter:

Though many of us hold different views on winning the war on terror, I think it is only logical that we not end up being like those we are fighting. Concerning Alberto Gonzalez, I must ask how anyone in good conscience could support someone who endorses torture? Though he claims not to support these acts and he is "personally revolted by the abuse of Iraqi detainees," there is obvious question in his complicity in the manner and the present Administration is doing all they can to keep these questions unanswered.

Were we as Americans not outraged when our fellow countrymen were tortured and killed in Iraq? What gives us the authority not to hold ourselves to the same standards that we hold others. If we are to be a beacon of democracy, we have to be a beacon of humanity. I urge you not to vote to confirm someone who shows so much disdain for common decency. As a citizen of these United States, I for one, do not feel Mr. Gonzalez knows the difference between right and wrong, so how can we expect him to uphold the laws of this nation and the Constitution?

Again, I urge you to consider your vote and think about the outcome it could have for our nation. I must also ask you to consider this question, "Is this the best we have to offer to America?" I think not.

Thank you for your time.
