Need billboard ideas
Locally a group of folks has gotten together and are working on having a billboard up year round. It's location will vary from month to month around the region and it's $900 a month (including artwork).

I met with that group today. Initial planning stages sort of meeting. All want something positive and thought provoking. Nobody wants anything that could be perceived as "sour grapes" or whining.

Not all are Dems, some are independents and they hate Bush. They want to appeal to the many independents here and the moderate R's.

Any good ideas fellow DUers? BTW, the person initiating this is a wife of a bestselling novelist and we've got some funding promised from Michael Moore.

6. Is it going to focus on election reform?
I got that impression since you used the phrase "sour grapes". Or is going to be more generic anti-Bush message?

Edited on Sat Jan-15-05 06:18 PM by moggie12
Text: Maybe the people who benefitted most from the tax cuts can afford to wait four hours to vote. Working Americans can't.

or

"Why don't the people in Washington care that millions of hard-working Americans had to wait four hours to vote?"

22. "I ain't no milquetoast moderate"
Liberal Values:

Privacy Rights

Equitable Economy

Healthy Environment

School For All

Elder Care

Whatever else you can all agree on and phrase in a way to appeal to everybody. My personal campaign to take back the word "liberal" by applying it to "moderate" Republicans and the things they support.

27. Don't fall for the piratization of Social Security
Piratization is deliberate. Could use a silhouette of a pirate ship.

I like this because it introduces the possibility that some might be/have been deceived. It is hard to admit you were conned so the introduction of that notion, although it is essential, has to be done with care.

28. Would this work as a billboard?
The proportions might have to be changed.

Do a google search on "protest posters" or "protest signs". You can get the wording plus the graphics for a lot of different signs.
