IT'S THE FASCISM, STUPID - SO WHAT DO WE DO ABOUT IT?
"Fighting for the Work of the Lord"
Everybody's Talkin' About Christian Fascism

By GARY LEUPP

"Commentators right and left are talking about fascism in the U.S. of A. Libertarian conservative Lew Rockwell, in a recent article entitled "The Reality of Red-State Fascism," declares, "what we have alive in the US is an updated and Americanized fascism."
<snip>
"Nor is there, a mass-based fascist party yet. The Republicans may morph into such, but there remain the occasional Ron Pauls. (I have to note, though, that the Texas Republican Congressman himself opines that "a total police state is fast approaching.") What we have is a fascist movement, even if its storm troops themselves do not, by and large, conceive of it as such. Many of them simply think they're God's Army, having nothing in common with Hitler's Brownshirts, whom they learned in school were bad people defeated by fine Americans. They will be insulted if told they resemble the Nazi supporters of the 1930s, but in many respects they do.

Fascism feeds on fear. Hitler's Reichmarshall Hermann Goering declared that "people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. This is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and attack the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in every country." Question for discussion, ladies and gentlemen: How does this apply here? Are the myriad threats the movement has used to frighten all who will listen (weapons of mass destruction, mushroom clouds over New York, Muslims in general, liberal college professors, homosexuals) working to get people to do the bidding of leaders in this country?"
<snip>
"Martin Niemoeller, another Protestant pastor, was interned in a prison camp for eight years, freed in 1945. He had sermonized against aspects of the regime. After his liberation he suggested he and other Protestants hadn't done enough. Although the quotation is disputed Niemoeller is said to have stated, "First they came for the Communists, but I was not a Communist so I did not speak out. Then they came for the Socialists and the Trade Unionists, but I was neither, so I did not speak out. Then they came for the Jews, but I was not a Jew so I did not speak out. And when they came for me, there was no one left to speak out for me."

So, my question for the historians among us: given what we know about the rise of fascism, and what we can see happening today, HOW DO WE STOP IT? Where or when, in Germany or in Italy, was the moment or the opportunity to turn it around? Does it have implications for us today?

2. Sometimes you have to just let things go until even the malignant dumb
get it.... sorry to say.

"Or" we could push towards a future where the pharmaceutical industry is beaten back, (This is being accomplished with the incredible amount of knowledge being generated about the role of specific nutraceuticals in health and disease)

"And" we could push towards a future where the Petro Cos are not king of the hill. We can do that by seeking out, supporting and investing in companies who are listed on sites such as this one www.ch2bc.org

the H is for Hydrogen

3. Use whatever means possible to get the word out
and stress the consititution-that's what is the basis of our country. Talk to people about the unconstitutional things that are being done. Make leaflets and flyers, write LTTE, create peace groups, join groups willing to fight this.

4. I don't know the answer, but as a rhetorical question...
is there any evidence that the Germans and Italians got it before the outside world intervened?

6. have DNC fund AAR or similar: also,ProgrssivePages site
Edited on Sat Jan-15-05 08:18 PM by oscar111
massive cash from DNC fundraising could spark rapid growth of AAR into battleground states.

Demand that the Chair of DNC, and all Members of DNC, support this new mass media effort.

Till we get a "voice", we cannot reach the grassroots. We are doomed without a voice. Have the DNC aid the AAR, or start its own version, a "DemNet" network.

But have the two agree not to foolishly compete in the same areas... wastes money. Have any new demnet expand into areas not covered by AAR.

Soundbites on an unfriendly MSM just will not stop the GOP.

We need our own media with HOURS to explain our "novel ideas".. just as Rush gets hours to explain his.

PS the disappearing AFLCIO also needs to be prodded by you, to do the same. UAW had its own net, IEA or ieAmerica.com, but the new chief at UAW foolishly ended it about Jan of 'O4. Malloy was on it then. The IE stood for Ideas and Entertainment.. a poor choice for a name. Sounded like ie, which means in latin, "for example". Id Est for you old romans still around. lol.

ALFCIO was thirty percent of workers about '50. Now RW law firms methods have chopped it in half. I claim it is disappearing. Mexico is the RW model for US.
Wake up, AFLCIO.

Hate Radio chain CC.. Clear Channel.. has 1,2OO stations. AAR has 40. We need growth.
=============
visit the ProgressivePages site. google it, sorry no link. It is massive, just beginning tho, and shows both the good co's and bad.
Has some good stuff already. Add your re comments very easily, no registering to do that, only for new co's.
==========
Canadian Model elections.. paper ballots hand counted. No machines anywhere in sight. Machines of any sort simply hide tricks. Toss them all. Even paper trail ones.
Paper's cheaper and less tricks are possible.
==============
To sum up:
1 boycott {and patronize}

2 media

3 paper ballots
