I cringe when I hear the media call him "Mr. President" or "the President," in hushed and respectful tones. I just want to throw up.

7. I also call him "Mr. Bush"... |
|
mostly out of disrespect. Hehe.
You know, I do think some cheating might have happened in Florida.
However, voter fraud can't make up for three million votes.
Plus, if we had voter fraud, we would have a lot less Democrats in Congress than we do. We also wouldn't have had have Bill Clinton for two terms.
Yes, rebuild those machines. Fix it to where they can handle over a hundred million people voting. Make sure they're no longer made by those who are biased.
But I'm sorry, I think Bush actually did win this time.
He didn't win in 2000 because he didn't get the popular vote (in my eyes that is). However, I really really don't think that voter fraud could have made up for three million votes. If they could have, then you can bet your tail that people doing voter fraud could also manage to get rid of a heck of a lot more Democrats. We could have been left with little to no Democrats this was all about voter fraud.
People want their war time president, period. Just like they wanted Putin and Sharon because they were supposedly "good" in war time. People wanted the president that they knew. They especially wanted him over an anti-war activist. I'm anti-war activist myself, and I admire Kerry standing up to the war years ago. However, I can see Americans believing that he wouldn't be willing to go to war when we needed to. I can see this all coming together and making the majority of Americans want to vote for Bush.
Plus, the poles were repeatively saying ahead of time that people were preferring Bush. Was that fraud too?
I realize you all don't want to blame 58 million Americans for voting him back in, but guess what? They did. Maybe we should start asking them why they did instead of assuming it's all about fraud. We do want to win elections in two years, right? NOW, is the time to find out why people are voting Republican. I want to know, don't you all?

Consider that Putin got voted in Russia. Why on earth did the majority of Russians vote for a man they knew was a former member of the secret police? They felt secure with him against the Chechens. That's why.
Why does Israel keep voting for Sharon? They feel secure with him against the Palestinians.
Why did the people of Afghanistan vote for Karzai? Their country isn't stable and they want the man they know.
Whenever a country is at war or unstable, people vote for the person they know as a leader already. They don't want to switch.
So yeah, I do believe that there are 58 million "morons" in this country. There were during the Reagan years right, and I think Reagan was worse than Bush.
But to give them their due, I really do think that there are a lot of Bush supporters that are no more stupid than the average human being in general. In other words, I don't think they're stupid. I've discovered that some of them know a lot more than I might have thought, were more educated than I thought, etc.
But to be honest, I think the average person has a certain amount of stupidity in them, period. On my job, I've just discovered that so many people really are dumb. They don't have common sense, even if they do have a lot of book smarts. I've discovered that both Republicans and Democrats can be this way. I'm not joking. I'm serious. I really do think the average human being is stupid to a point.
So, I still stand by what I say when I say that we need to talk to Republican supporters more about why they're voting the way they are. It all makes perfect sense to me.

But I have found it difficult, if not downright impossible, to pinpoint why people back Bush. If ever I ask, they're stumped for an answer and start getting defensive. And I think it keeps coming back to PIPA's study, which cites "cognitive dissonance." http://www.pipa.org/OnlineReports/Pres_Election_04/html/new_10_21_04.html

When Junior grossly misquoted John Kerry, completely twisting something he said to suit Junior's own purposes.
Peter Jennings introduced a clip of the (p)resident's remarks by referring to a speech by "Mr. Bush." He then introduced a clip of Kerry's speech by saying, "And here is what Mr. Kerry actually said."
I remember that moment because it was unusual for the media to correct such slams on Kerry.

one time either Brokow, Rather or Jennings explained and said it was a sign of respect and an acceptable term for whoever is President. The anchors used the Mister with all the other Presidents too, so in their case it is not a form of protest.
