What are the public reactions to Bush's insistence he has carte blanche
on the Iraq debacle because of the November elections. Is anybody buying it? Or has he just dressed himself in crepe paper and called himself a pinata?

2. I don't know, but his assertion that accountability is over ought to raise
some hackles :grr: across the board.

3. Looks like a pinata.
The religious fundamentalists didn't like Iraq to begin with - Patrick Buchannon has been that spokesperson. Even people who believed going into Iraq was right think it was poorly planned.

I'm hoping this time the Bush spin just makes him look stupid. Kind of like him trying to get a laugh from the crowd during the debates.

4. pinata
a lot of people who swallowed his Iraq lies are having second and third thoughts, at least the ones around my neck of the woods. A lot of them are in the Guard/Reserves or have a friend or relative in the those organizations, and they realize how badly the military has been screwed by this administration.

5. Maybe we should design a bumper sticker which says,
"What took you so long?"

7. Something is going to tip things over the edge.
It's going to be something big, and it's going to be something bad; and what's going to happen is that the right-wingers will be so shocked by it, that they won't lift a finger to help him. I suspect the Sibel Edmonds thing will provide just such an impetus.
