In th NW Florida city of Pensacola which is one of the the strongest bastions of Republican controlled Florida, government officials must be alarmed at the increase in young voters for the 2004 election. If this keeps up their plans for a Fascist Faith Based Theocracy might be derailed in 2008, therefore they have decided to scrap Civic classes at the middled and high school level.

"We get to use a lot of hands-on stuff, like how an election works," said Brittney Alves, 13. "It's more fun than just being in the book and reading."

"Both Pharis and McClintock worry that these interactive approaches to teaching civics will fall by the wayside if the yearlong course is eliminated and integrated with other social studies classes as proposed in these curriculum revisions."

I have seen discussions on various right wing boards about raising the minimum voting age to 21, and there is usually a lot of support.

Mainly, if an idea goes against Democracy, reich wingers will support it.

They also don't believe that we should be able to vote for our own Senators, but rather that they should be chosen by the state.
