All the Iraqi "exiles" voting in the Iraq election gives Bush cover
Edited on Mon Jan-17-05 07:12 AM by hector459
to claim that millions of Iraqis voted in the election. They just won't tell you that most were living in other countries. These guys are shrewd. My question is why should those who deserted their country when things were tough (mostly the wealthy who could flee) be allowed to vote in elections for which they didn't earn the right to vote? This ought to make all Iraqi, Shis and Sunnis alike very angry.

1. Are Iraqi Americans voting twice?
There are about one million Iraqi citizens living outside Iraq who are eligible to vote in the upcoming election. In the U.S. there are about 90,000 foreign-born Iraqis and perhaps 140,000 second-generation Iraqi Americans that are eligible to vote. That poses an interesting question, why are naturalized Iraqis and second-generation Iraqi Americans allowed to vote in both U.S. and Iraqi elections?

3. I thought there were over a million Iraqis in Australia. WRONG.

I read that information today, but have no idea where. Maybe rooboy will check in.

I agree. Bush will announce that millions of Iraqis voted in the election, and most of them will have voted outside Iraq.

Edit: There are approximately 50,000 Iraqis in Australia.

Iraqi exiles living in fourteen countries around the world are being allowed to vote with up to 50,000 Iraqis in Australia expected to cast a ballot for the transitional National Assembly.

2. Another question is how many times will Bush & buddies vote too.
No one will know who is running. Iraqis everywhere will be voting, and Bush and his buddies will be counting. Oh yeah, this will be a fair election by the Iraqi people.

We should take bets. Will the new president of Iraq be a former CIA employee or a former US oil employee?
