How we hate W, compared to how they hated Bill
I remember how searingly they hated Bill Clinton, our last president.
Man oh man, they boiled over with hatred, mainly because he interrupted what they thought would be 8 straight years of Daddy Bush.

And because they hate losing, and they hate liberals in general. They're hatred boiled over into an actual impeachment over a non-governmental matter. Not treason, not tyranny or treachery, just titillating tripe.

Our hatred of W seems almost non existent compared to the republican's loathing of Big Bad Bill. I believe we can safely equal or outdo that hatred WITH ACTION. Something, anything to focus our hatred toward saving America, and getting it back on track BEFORE the big train wreck.

Are the republicans just better haters? Are they simply more hateful than we are?

7. And a stifling defense that only gave up 3 points.
And a gutsy QB who came back from two mistakes to drive the team to two late scores.

4. And if the media did have a "liberal bias", as they claim,
Bush would not be there now. The so-called "liberal media" would have trampled him into oblivion.

5. Our hate is based on fact,
Edited on Mon Jan-17-05 12:03 PM by goddess40
Their hate is based on the fact that Big Dog wasn't a republican. They all did well during those boom years of Clinton, now they deny that they are doing bad they hold on to some stupid belief that they got a tax cut.

Edit: How can anyone love someone that is responsible for the death of 1364 of our troops and over 100,000 innocent Iraqis. The theft of our countries surplus and driving us into the deepest debt our country has ever seen. Supporting torutre, lying about everything and being a jerk.

Also remember how they hated Bill for not serving in Nam but they give a pass to their own deserter.

6. The repubs had a majority in Congress
Edited on Mon Jan-17-05 11:40 AM by Bluzmann57
just as they do now, so they had the power to attempt a coup, er an impeachment. The Dems are basically powerless, which means we have work harder than ever to retake the House and/or Senate. If we can accomplish this, then maybe bush will be hounded his last two years in office, just as Clinton was.
Edited-I have to learn to type better.

8. They hate reich wingers had and still have for Clinton was
fueled by the reukes in control of Congress and amplified by the whoring liberal media.
The hate is a much different hate this time around. It more a hate for what this regime has done than a hate for a man that took control away from their favorite son of the hour.
The hate for Clinton was pushed by the likes of Rush Limbahhhh, it was from the top down and the hate today is from the grass roots or bottom up. It just has never been given the chance to bubble to the top.

9. I think a whole Bill-hating industry sprung up during his term
There was no real reason to hate Clinton. Peace, prosperity...they were just sore losers who couldn't stomach the fact that Clinton legally won the election. But we all know there are REAL reasons to hate bush. And I do! I can out-hate them any day.

I think that turnabout is fair play, and that liberals will come into their own during this second term, like the rightwingers did in the Clinton years (e.g. with Rush Lunkhead etc.) Defeat will only make us stronger and louder.

18. Yeah
That pretty much it. It's funny how many times a repuke bores me with a story about a wrong that "Clinton" did to them. Usually it's a bad idea of the repuke congress they elected because they hated Clinton. Now the repukes got everything and all they can do is long for the days when their life didn't suck and they could hate Clinton in peace and prosperity.

12. I don't pretend tto understand their psychology
Or why a stupid BJ would provoke such outrage.

I despise GWB for the simple reason that he is a mass murderer and a lying piece of shit. I despise his fake motives for sending the flower of our youth to murder and die in Iraq.

Their reasons for hating Clinton are hard to understand, since Clinton was a right-winger who threw only a very few little tidbits to the progressives who helped elect him.

16. They hated Clinton for "denying" GHWB a 2nd term
The second GHWB term had to be delayed until 2001, when *² was "installed". The Bush-gang had 8 long years to sit & stew in that Texas heat...planning their revenge..

The impeachment was just to "slow him down"and make it impossible for him to enact anything of value to the public. On all things "anti-public", they all but forced him into acting.. The FCC stuff, NAFTA stuff, Welfare Reform.... Poor Bill, probably thought that if he "threw them a bone or two", they would lay off.. Little did he know..

Anytime he DID stand up to them, Starr would just go on TV to "remind" the public of what a "dirty, dirty man" he was.

The KEY to the Clinton admin was the SCOTUS "decision" that the Jones lawsuit could go forward. That was the harbinger of BC's fate.. In hindsight, we all know NOW, why that was done. He was "hobbled" from the git-go..

Since the repubes "owned" the airwaves, they could easily orchestrate coverage to play up all the negatives, and the media was more than happy to oblige..

You see, the "Glorious Reagan Era" was to continue, uninterrupted for a generation...or more, and Clinton messed it up..

I think that Poppy "put off" the really nasty stuff he had planned, until AFTER he WON the spectacle that was GW1, he fully expected a grateful nation to re-elect him....and with that "capital" won, he could concentrate on the New World Order... Instead, they threw him out on his ass.. *² is our punishment.

19. Funny, but I remember THEM turning on GHWB
I remember Limbutt and his dittofreaks all turning on Bush the Smarter for reneging on his "no new taxes" pledge. There were a number of ways in which Bush Sr. just wasn't near nazi enough for them - that hurt him as much as Perot's influence and Clinton's own considerable charisma.

As for W, I think this is all his own little idea. Bush sr. was a mainstream paleo- republican. Bush represents the worst of the dittohead mindset.

15. Better haters.

Back in Clintons time, there was something going around that was never investigated because the media broke down. That something was, that with a little effort, the media would have and should have figured out that the people stoking the rumors against Clinton worked for government organizations that would have benefited from a Republican president's policies.

There were a lot of weird things I was hearing on the street, and if I was hearing it, you have to wonder the trash that was going on in inside Republican circles. Take this as an example:

This is something I learned from a Republican in my neighborhood, who no longer lives here, and who no longer is an acquaintance because the things he said scared the hell out of me. He's one of those guys who goes out and does bids for stock items which corporations or government want to unload quickly. So, he is privy to bankruptcies and also privy to whatever the military or government agencies are unloading. Let me make this clear. The man is a Libertarian style Republican. An anarchist. He HATES government; and he isn't adverse to playing dirty. In his old homestead he stole the original plats to his and his neighbor's property from the local public records office in order to muddy the waters on a property rights issue. So, one day, here we are sitting around talking and he tells me that he's in very big with the Energy Department. Our Energy Department. Apparently, he found some kind of questionnable devices, maybe detonators, at an auction, recognized what they were, bid on them and returned them to the Energy Department. For that they let him into his inner circle. And boy, did they trash Clinton. EVERYTHING that even seemed vaguely fishy was blamed on Clinton. The fact that those detonators (and they could have been nuclear detonators for all I know) were found in auction was blamed on Clinton. The fact that Clinton's people were trying to encourage trade with foreign countries was considered a Clinton conspiracy. (But not a peep these days that Carlyle actually has business interests in China.) This is what I concluded from the conversation: OUR GOVERNMENT AGENCIES WERE HIDING THEIR OWN INCOMPETENCE/CORRUPTION BY SPREADING THE LIES THAT CLINTON WAS COMMITTING TREASON AND OTHER HIGH MISDEMEANORS.

Now. If someone as insignificant as I was, was listening to this propaganda, what were the Republicans hearing?

So, I fully blame the media for allowing the imbalance of the 90s to occur. They had us focusing on Clinton for all the graft/corruption/incompetence of government, when the reality is, that these agencies were probably covering up their own wrong doings. What's worse, these agencies have been thriving under Bush.

17. The world loved (loves) Bill and hates Bush!
Those of you who loved Bill were in sinc with the rest of the world...We could accept the fact of Clinton's thing with Monica and still see his worthiness as your president....No matter how sanctimoniously Bush claims he is working for "world peace"....NOBODY BELIEVES HIM!....He is NOT a force for good in the world!....
P.S...Clinton always gets a warm welcome here in Canada as he does in the rest of the world when he travels....
