An idea for red-state revolutionaries |
|
Acquire a W04 button. This is essential. Dress in your Sunday best.
Hit the local eateries - especially fast food places - during the lunch hour.
Announce loudly to the crowd - "Has everyone said GRACE before their meal? Raise your hands if you haven't said grace!"
Also, apply stickers to the doors of the establishments - "The Grace Police are watching you - Vote Republican!"

1. I love it when DUers make fun of stuff like this. |
|
Because really, making fun of Christianity is the way to win!

Since the "mandate" was for the "moral values" (whoops, the "mandate" has changed, I know!), then all the red-staters are saying that they practice the "moral values". Hence, in their minds, there is only the absolutes (except when they're caught).
Also, the "disguise" - look like a Bushatic.
When the pendulum swings to the extreme, then the sheep might get nervous. Give them a taste of what the US is heading toward. Mandatory profession of faith in public; if you don't follow, humiliation in public.
When asked to show hands those who did not say Grace before their meal, they are exposed either as liars, or as "immoral".

7. You can rationalize it if you want... |
|
In the end, it is just a cheap jab at the stereotype of evangelical and fundamentalist Christians (and the moral values voter in general). Knowing many of these people myself, and knowing that they do not fit your silly stereotype, I can tell you that pulling a stunt like this in an eatery would not do any good.

you would be found out immediately. No one would think you were a conservative. Maybe conservatives don't have the imagination, but street theater is the exclusive province of the left, and everyone knows it.

|
Do you think anyone would fall for this? Or do you think everyone would simply think you were being an asshat?

At least someone here has the sense not to fall for the idiotic stereotype of the red stater.

6. Conservative believers don't do that. Rather, they will stand up |
|
and loudly say grace FOR everyone. ------------------------------------ Would Jesus love a liberal? You bet! http://timeforachange.bluelemur.com/
