HISTORY CHANNEL NOW! Hitler's rise to power |
|
The similarities between Bush and his regime and Hitler and the Nazis is striking. We are headed in that direction I fear.

2. the real question for those who deny any similarity: |
|
first off, those who deny the similarity are blinded by the genocide. if you put aside the overt domestic (within the nation, i mean) violence and the extermination of the jews, the similarities become obvious. but for far too many people, hitler means one and only one thing, the holocaust.
so the real question is, assuming that shrub isn't actually planning that sort of domestic violence, is this:
is that sort of violence and inevitable outcome of unchecked hardline, right-wing propaganda and corporatism?
more directly, has shrub started something that no one, not even he, can stop?

3. the real bs is the connection they try to draw |
|
between Hitler and Saddam! The show itself is all about Hitler but when they went to commercial, they had one of their hosts blab about how people compare Saddam as another Hitler. Thats the first time I've ever heard that comparison, the other 999 times Ive heard someone being compared to Hitler his name began with a b.
Not to get off-topic here- but to echo what another poster said- Why in the blue hell on Martin Luther King Day (the day that we celebrate the single most important person in advancing civil rights in America) are they blabbing on about Saddam? Before the show on Hitler, there was a show about Saddam's atrocities. Of course now that people are finally starting to wake up to whats been happening in Iraq and ask some questions, the right-wing cheerleaders are falling back on the "Saddam was a tyrant" argument as if they never said a thing about WMDs.
Its gone full circle. Just like Hitler, Bush has conveniently focused the public on an enemy that doesn't exist to shut everyone up. The real problem is the idiot here.
