Bush can tell all the WMD jokes he wants and people can be hurt.
And, the majority of Americans just won't care.

when even Fox has to break into their nightly programming to deliver bad news, then we'll start to see a growing anger.

4. The public dosen't even know how many casualties |
|
there have really been. They don't know how many have been injured, and later died. They haven't heard how many have been maimed. And they can't even imagine how many Iraqi civilians (moms, old folks, kids) have been killed.
Until they hear these numbers, we can't know where their outrage point is.
Was the public outraged at how many died in VietNam?

6. Exactly. Most people don't know about the casualties that are occuring |
|
Even I only hear about the Americans that get killed. There must be countless thousands of Iraqis who have died that I have no idea about.

14. Nightline last night did the story of 6 Nat'l Gardsmen |
|
\who were killed at the same time. It was a really well done piece and talked about how these people were a part of the community with other jobs an businesses, not full-time soldiers. The most important part was that the families wanted everyone to see the funerals, so the press was invited to see six caskets come off the airplane. Later, georgie stephinopleaseshutup intervied Gov. Mary Landariu. He kept interrupting her, but she got her point across very well.

12. Apparently, the answer is unknown |
|
I've been outraged and ashamed with every death american or not, the massive numbers of wounded, the wanton destruction of a country thousands of years old. I thought people would wake up at 100, then 500, then 1000, as far as I know we're sitting on 1365 known american kia, though I believe the numbers are much greater. As long as we're being distracted by popular culture and the pain is not felt in middle class america, this is going to go a long, long time.
