Poll question: If you have to work: Are you Salaried, Hourly or Commission?
Me? Salaried no-OT.

Secondary question: Are you happy with the way you're paid?

PS- I bet that I missed a few catagories...

2. Independant contractor/freelance
No salary, no stability, no OT, no benefits.

Upside: no boss, no office politics, just pesky clients.

21. Don't you just love that upside?

"Your break was too long."
"Misty says you looked at her funny."
"You can't wear that."

You get the work done, the clients don't give a damn
about the rest of it.

Happy, happy, joy, joy.

6. Salary no more O.T.
I used to make a good living with O.T., now all they give is straight time. Thanks, Chimpy.

9. If you have to work?
Must be nice to not have to work...sigh.

I most definitely have to work. Salaried, no OT. But I'm fairly happy with my salary.

10. I assume a paper route is commission? X dollars every day I deliver.
Edited on Mon Jan-17-05 06:40 PM by Massacure
The only thing I don't like getting paid is the drool from a energetic dog that always licks me when I deliver to its house.

Oh, and I get paid better than my friends who work hourly and various stores. Maybe I'm just fast with my papers. Then again they don't have to go tromping around in the snow.

12. Salary + Bonus + Stock options
By rights I should be a Republican, but my Christian values don't allow me to congress with the devil. I'm a traitor to my class.

16. I'm no Christian, I just hold Christian Values
You know:

Love thy neighbor, be your brother's keeper, let he who is without sin...

The stuff that made Christ a really cool guy. The stuff that, if you were a true Christian would keep you from joining the Republican party to worship a golden calf (or a brass monkey).

13. On the payroll committee
I'm salary, and i decide the salary not to starve the business of cash
so we can grow successfully. Yes, i'm happy to be paid enough to meet
the bills, that i can focus my energy on positive things.

Its amazing the sense of contentment when one has at least a living
wage, as all the fear of surviving is arrested, leaving "what do i do
know?". Then the next quesiton is "how do i make more." and as a
principal manager of a business, that question is self answering.

15. I'm hourly with no OT...
but the week of Christmas, we had a huge amount of snow hit our area. I was one among three employees who were able to get to the station, so they had no choice but pay me ot. I hit 'em up for 31.5 hours ot. I guarantee that will never happen again.

20. forced part-time hourly, no OT
I'm required to stay at 29 hours/week or less, because corporate structure requires payment of benefits at 30+ hours a week. I also basically get McDonald's wages even after 18 months working for them.
