"Define conservative"
See what you get back from that. I'll bet it is stupid, faith-based, family values, faux news bullshit.

Main Entry: con·ser·va·tism
Pronunciation: k&n-'s&r-v&-"ti-z&m
Function: noun
1 capitalized a : the principles and policies of a Conservative party b : the Conservative party
2 a : disposition in politics to preserve what is established b : a political philosophy based on tradition and social stability, stressing established institutions, and preferring gradual development to abrupt change
3 : the tendency to prefer an existing or traditional situation to change

5. "Then why did you vote for Bush?"
"Bush is a free spending psuedo fascist corporatist, not a conservative."

6. What is conservative about Bush's policies?
He talks a good game but he doesn't deliver and even when he does, like that little tax cut, it is offset by trillions of dollars in pork barrel spending.

Bush is a radical and what he says and does has little to do with real conservative values.

7. He's NOT conservative.
There's nothing about him that's conservative. Look up the definition then tell your friend what politically conservative REALLY means. Then point out how he's not.

8. Conservative in what?
Because Bush's spending shows he's not conservative with money.
His plans to reform social security shows he's not conservative with the stock market. He doesn't consider the prudient (read "conservative") alternatives to a stock market crash and how all these people who "invest" will be taken care of.
His plans for faith-based initiatives aren't conservative, either. They may sound good on paper, but they don't take into consideration greed and the lack of people to actually respond to those in need.
He's not "conservative" in his approach to job creation, either. He just ignores is. Most conservatives would rather people find decent jobs and work to support themselves, but, with jobs going overseas at such a rapid pace, people cannot find decent-paying work if they can find work. This puts more people on the welfare doles. Just ask Wal-Mart.

And abortion? Abortion's gone up under Bush because of the above referenced "conservative" ideals.

And absolutely no one is stopping you from attending church. If they do, we all have worse problems on our hands than voting.

9. Bush isn't politically conservative. He is a radical in the worst way.

What does this person mean by a conservative president?

He is not the least bit fiscally responsible.

His radical neocon foreign forays definitely don't fit a conservative approach to government.

His approach is to overthrow government instead of keeping the status quo

He isn't even religiously conservative if you use the term in the best since of the term.

12. I'd ask why or
what do you mean by conservative first. Then you can tell them why Bush doesn't fit the mold and how he is misleading people while pursuing his own twisted agenda.
