8. Why would you want to send someone to such a bogus
marketing site as that one?

I faked info and continued for 2 windows. They want NOTHING MORE than your contact info. These bogus sites reek up the internet.

9. This one is not a bogus site.

I recommend you use another email address because you will be spammed. They make their money on email advertising and by assuming you will not get the necessary five referrals (most people don't.) However I know the person who referred me to this site and he did receive an Ipod last month from the company. They are legit, and in good standing with the better business bureau. I recommend you pick one of the offers that require no money up front. Personally, I applied for the Citibank credit card, then cancelled it and cut it up when it arrived ;)

No obligation...no money spent on anything, and it qualifies as completing the necessary offer. I heard the two week free trial from Blockbuster Online is also a good one to do.

10. I know these sites well... it would not let me continue 2 windows
past contact info. They are completely bogus, and serve only to get new contacts on the lists they sell.

12. do a little googling friend
Edited on Mon Jan-17-05 11:40 PM by leftyandproud
I didn't plan to make a big deal out of this, but if you want to find out more, do some googling.

This offer is limited to one ipod per household.

A company called The Gratis Network is offering $50 million dollars in Free ipods to people who register with their site and complete an offer from a national advertiser.

They have a very professional looking website, with multiple forms of contact information. The company has also been featured on CNN Headline News, G4TechTV, and Wired Magazine:
http://www.wired.com/news/mac/...4614...tory_page_next1

If you need further proof of this company's legitimacy, you will find they are in good standing with the Better Business Bureau here: http://www.dc.bbb.org/report.h...1035561&national=Y

Also, I seriously doubt major advertisers like AOL, The Wall Street Journal, Citibank, and Blockbuster would allow their names to be associated with a fraudulent site.

The offer is legit, though getting the referrals can be a pain. My family is computer illiterate so I'm stuck posting a link here whenever the topic comes up.

If you are not interested in the offer, don't apply. And my friend, OF COURSE they require your contact information. It will certainly be a bit diffifcult for them to mail you a new credit card, blockbuster dvd's, or whatever else you subscribe to without a mailing address. It shouldn't be that surprising that the Ipod site requires your address for confirmation. Without it, they wouldn't be able to prevent fraud and major abuse of the promotion.

14. I did apply!!! I used my old AOL e-mail
and attempted to get past my bogus address and info page. I tried all 3 offers. All came up 'error'.

Others should try it - The determination will be in their results.

PS - using a Mac (perhaps that matters, but I doubt it)

so I'm probably not eligible for the contest...

But, somethings going to come out, and probably not that long from now that will rock our little neo-con zealots for a loop.

I hope we have enough dem's in congress to impeach and convict the bastard when it happens.

on edit...oh missed the point, the Perspective on the ones named.
Nevermind.
