Bush is trying to use the troops as an excuse for his coronation
I heard his mouth piece this morning say it's about saluting the troops. He's on cnn right now, they cut away from the hearing to show Bush with the military.

4. Half of us
don't understand that either.

Some of us don't even understand why "our" Democratic LEADERS don't get it.

10. It is like they
are all brainwashed. I can't get over it either. When Bush invaded Iraq, I really though that it was because of WMD. I never thought Iraq was connected to September 11, 2001. As time went on I educated myself about the PNAC, and their plans. I have tried talking to people I know about all this that voted for Bush. One person, told me, about the Iraq invasion" well we have to start somewhere". It made me want to puke. I don't talk much to her anymore.
These people think that America is #1 and that we are saving everyone from themselves.
A lot of them have never stepped outside this country. They have been told all their lives that USA is the greatest country in the world and can do no wrong. That's their mindset.
It's major denial.

2. Yup - he got an early start exploiting them today >

President Bush (news - web sites) and first lady Laura Bush sit among the servicemen and women as they attend 'Saluting Those Who Serve' at the MCI Center, Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2005 in Washington.

3. Two things that I notice in that picture...
1) It's disgusting how everyone is looking at him to see what his reaction is to whatever is so funny. Look at the women in the front. Makes me want to puke.

2) The funny part is Bush's expression. He looks like he knows everyone is looking at him, and is trying to pretend he gets the joke that everyone else gets.

5. Let bu$h salute the troops from a reviewing stand in Baghdad.
A Real Man wouldn't send his troops to a place that he wouldn't go himself.

6. they always blame the troops
Missing explosives - it's the trooops fault.

Abuse in the prison - a few rogue troops.

8. My take, exactly! He's just protecting his interests!
You know what I mean...if he was really serious about honoring and respecting our military he'd do a hell of alot more than this crap! How about some body armor and guns that work properly? Don't hold your breath... It's disgusting, as well as heart wrenching!

11. No, it's supposed to be about a peaceful transistion of power
between outgoing and incoming administrations, which makes it a moot ceremony with an re-selected incumbent. The whole, having the military prominently on display thing kind of ruins it for me too.

14. Don't you know?
That's why they're having balls to honor the troops who would never be invited even if they were still in this country and who, not coincidentally, will be coming home to find that Bush has cut among other things, their medical care benefits.

How long till he backtracks on their promised educational benefits as well? Any bets?
