87 Billion? No WAY. CALL YOUR SENATORS! SCREAM LOUDLY, NO to |
|
spending one MORE dime on this fake war.
I'm telling you, this is the way to bring this putz down. He NEEDS the support of OUR rightfully elected and equally responsive Senators. Well WE need to deluge them with our demands that not one more dime gets spent in iraq.
Our senators will listen to us. In fact we could even use posters and bumper stickers. "No more dollars for dying in iraq", something pithy.
This could be our chance. This could be the chink in the armor.
Thoughts? Fortitude? A little guts and determination with a side of huevos?

1. How many uninsured children are there in THIS country? |
|
Edited on Mon Sep-08-03 08:07 AM by tjdee
87 BILLION dollars my ass.
With HOW MANY out of work in this country?
With HOW MANY uninsured children in this country?
The more I think about it, the madder I get. I can't wait until our nominee steamrolls over this bullshit. 87 billion dollars.
Will be calling this morning, but I've got good reps and I know they're already laughing in Bush's face.

however when I think of all those poor souls over like sitting ducks all I can do is say, yes we need to spend more money. And the troops over there need to be rotated home and replaced.
It depends on if you have a loved one over there. My brother was in Vietnam and that's the way I see any war, any time.
I'm revolted by this whole scenario - there is not right answer to a wrong war.

4. Throw money at the problem? |
|
The emphasis should be in getting those sitting ducks HOME, or relief in the form of other warm bodies, getting the UN involved... George Bush may be one stupid man, but that's no reason to indulge him.
I don't think anyone is saying the troops don't need help (and ugh, prolly a lot of money), but 87 billion, to me, is going past help into crazy town.
And the bulk of that money isn't even going to the troops. It's going to Karzai, etc.
It is TOO much.

6. I'm not sure how much money it takes |
|
but the U.S. needs to restore infrastructure over there, electricity and decent water. After this horrible war, we are morally responsible for restoring the way of life of these poor victims, many of whom were maimed and their family members killed because of the idiotic policy of this country.
Yes I agree this will hurt us badly, how amazing that just when you think things are as bad as they can get they get worse!
Here's my suggestion and what I plan to write to my Congressman/Senators:
I propose that we use the local Iraqi workforce to achieve these goals (infrastructure repair). This will be cheaper and no money will make it into Cheney's pocket. Nothing should be done in Iraq to benefit any American corporations!!!!!!!
That should reduce the amount of money spent for you, and make people like me feel better as well.

They never listened before. Why do you think Kerry wouldn't answer the question when asked during the last candidate get-together? His vote will be preceded by some honorable words intended express reservations based on various concerns - serving as political cover as a disclaimer to cover all points in the political spectrum, sidestepping any clear position. As usual.

they'll fund it...if only out of concern for the people who didn'y ask for this nor deserve it....they have to tell us where the money is going...remember its going to a generation war....this is just the start of the funding..
to that I'll add....all tax cuts should be repealed......the draft reinstated..and bush should give his fund raising money towards this war...after all he started this mess...and expects the people to bail his ass out......as in everything in life.....this man will not be held accountible for the outcome of things.... this is a needless cost.....bush put this country in a down hill mess and hate to say it but we've hit the bottom!!!!
