Obama is elegant, eloquent, intelligent, articulate, and
making Condoleezza look like the shrill lame-ass liar she is. Anybody catch her idiotic responses to Obama? This woman's got borderline personality disorder, I'll bet money on it.

2. Yes, he was awesome
She really looked like a fool when she attempted to "correct" him and he simply replied by correcting her bullshit.

3. I liked his tyranny v. terror discussion. Thoughtful and smart.
It clarified that issue somewhat because the confusion has been part of the problem.

BushCo keeps mixing tyranny and terror up in their PR and applies their policies inconsistently.

4. the academy remark
she attempted to be very condescending, "oh what a good question (pats him the head) we debate that in the Academy! What a smart lil boy you are"
Then he smacked her down.

5. I thought she was so out of line with that, clearly condescending.
And he smacked her right down & kept her there.

7. Are you implying that it is unusual for blacks to be eloquent, etc.?
Why are you only comparing Obama with Rice? Boxer and a few other demos showed immense eloquence also today.

It feels like you are reminding me that SOME minorities can be just as smart as white people. I don't need to be reminded of that (being a minority myself).

8. I just read the thread
and the thought that anybody was surprised to hear an eloquent minority didn't even occur to me. And I'm caucasian.

9. maybe cause he's wet behind the ears
I know I watch the spankin' new freshemen Senators with greater interest and view their good shots as even better than when it comes from a grizzled veteran.

Now relax. Not everything is race-based.

10. Sounds like we're comparing our token black to their token black.
My reality in watching this hearing is that Condi is every bit as eloquent and intelligent, etc. as Obama. I just don't like her politics and neocon ideology. It is hypocritical to me as most Repug dogma is.

Obama is not the only black politician who has brilliant qualities so why patronize him by making him a poster boy? That is not necessary as this is DU, not Free Republic.

12. I feel you
The "articulate" thing jumped out at me. It's the word to describe every smart black person. LOL

14. I believe
every Senator got comments. The freshman got a bit more notice. Well, 'cept for maybe Brown-nose Biden or the fabulous Barbara Boxer.

But I understand, no matter what is said, you will see racism. Enjoy!

13. With Kerry, Biden and Boxer
Rice was able to maintain her composure and respond although
ineffectively.
Obama, however, completely blew her away. In the end she was
speechless, expressionless and turned very pale.
This was the first opportunity I've had to observe Obama in a
debate.He is outstanding!
