FOX NEWS: Inauguration Boycott & What Protestors Have In Common
I never watch Fox News, ever, but I was flipping through my girlfriend's television and there was this report about the inauguration protests. There was a long and detailed report about the protests and I will try to use exact quotes as best I can recall:

"Protestors on January 20 plan to stage laughable protests that include not buying anything on the day of the President's inauguration. They are going so far as to tell people to shut off their telephones and cancel their cable service and electricity on that day. These Bush-bashing protests are being organized by groups from across the spectrum of the Democrat party. And while the Bush-bashing groups are all very different, they all have one thing in common: They just don't get it."

I was telling someone about it earlier as an example of the unbelievable bias and got this response: "It's about time there's a channel not controlled by the liberals."

*sigh*

10. What are we supposed to get?
I mean, besides lies, war, destruction of social security, tax cuts for the rich, destruction of the environment, terra alerts, and an impending draft?

Oh, we get it alright...right in the ass.

I wonder what the Ministry of Propaganda paid for that story.

6. It's a Paradox
They sit there listening to cable news, network news, radio, newspapers, magazines, et al... All telling them about the left wing bias in the media. And who tells them that? The media.

11. Wars with random nations?
Those aren't random nations. Those are oil-rich nations. Why bombs on countries that have nothing to offer?

7. Do you remember who said that?
I'd like to tell them that THEY don't "get it." But what they're gonna get is chaos, stagnation, poverty and revolution if they don't stop the propaganda.

This is that open-faced bias that Fox has made into a religion. Sadly, the person you talked to "doesn't get it." You can debate the effectiveness of the protests of Bush's coronation, but for Christ's sake, those jackals at Fox, they just whore openly like that. It's disgusting.

BTW, not that it means much, but I've gone two months without sunjecting myself to the self-torture of Hannity and Colmes. I used to watch it in order to yell at the TV, but Hannity's post-election complaining (WTF are they still complaining about!?) wxhausted my tolerance for political sadomasochism.

13. Our reality-based community
"And while the Bush-bashing groups are all very different, they all have one thing in common: They just don't get it."

Get what? Fascism? Corporate propaganda? A far, far, far, far right wing God? Private corporations funded by Christian Reconstructionists own the vote? That there is no alternative? That democracy, whatever it may be, is dead? That the powers that be have finally had enough, and it's time to pull the illusion away?

Come on Fox News. Tell everyone what "it" is. Is it the "it" that can't possibly happen in the land mass with arbitrary borders protected by God that we all grew up learning about? Is it the "it" that you've been racing towards for 30+ years since those bad old days of the 60's? Is it the "it" that were we told we fought against in Germany, and for 45 years against those Godless commies?

I want to know what it is. What better place to find out what it is then from the source? Tell your viewers. I'll watch your damn news network all day long if you'll tell us. I just want to finally know.
