Add "On Titan" at the end of each sentence
This is not a joke. It is not made up. It is from a professional forum of doctors discussing ethics and religion. The following post is from some Fu up person that I answered by asking her to put "on Titan" after every sentence. How would you answer the following:

"Example: You have 2 dogs. You teach them the rules/morals of your home, such as you do not use the house for a bathroom, you do not jump up on people, you do not bite people, you are not allowed on the furniture, you sleep in this spot, you do not beg during dinner or steal food from the table, you do not destroy the house when I am not home, etc. You, yourself, do not have to follow the same rules--you are above them. You do use part of the house for a bathroom and you get on the furniture and sleep in a different (and nicer!) place.
If a burglar breaks into your home and threatens you, you command your dogs to break the rules and go jump up on him and bite him. It is very wrong for them to bite, yet at this moment it is very right for them to bite.
God is far superior to us, having made us and the universe. He has given us morals to live by, but there can be times when He defies the rules that humans should live by because He knows more than we do about the grand scheme of things and He, Himself, is above the rules He gave us. He may even request a human to break the moral code He gave us for some purpose greater than ourselves that only He knows. Yes, He can do that."

I know it is hopeless to bandy with such a person, but what makes me even more sickened is that so many people answered her with religious quotes of their own, such as God slaughtering people for this or that. The discussion was on nuiances, not questioning her.
I answered as best I could. One answer I gave was how can you believe in the specious vicissitudes of such a God? Why don't you believe as the Buddhists do in bowing to each other because God is as they believe in each of us?
And so on.
Any comments? Is it even worth arguing with such stupidity?

1. We ARE BETTER than people like that
It's time to break the "moral code" toward them.
And get rid of their arrogance/ignorance.
Get rid of them.
This time we ARE really better than them

3. truly nonsense
and what amazes me is the depth of beleif. It's as if, let's not question anything outside our God thinking. Let's just limit this to our little inside thinking.
I'm sure my post will have them scrambling to make all well. You know my comment that I am proud of: The specious vicissitudes of God.
Thanks for your reply,
Gary

4. What is their point?
Is this person trying to justify Iraq? The whole war itself? Or the torture? Or maybe they are justifying bin Laden and terrorism. Because you could read it that way too.

5. Please explain
How this post relates to Iraq. I can sort of see something related, but I am talking about religious nut jobs.

7. Beats me, it was just a guess
I don't know the context of the message, so I honestly have no idea.

I figured that maybe they were saying "It's ok that we invaded, despite all the lies, because sometimes for a noble purpose God commands people to bend the laws of morality."

6. What I just don't get...
...why is it that the people who believe in invisible beings that control us considered more "sensible" than those who don't?

8. Penny
That's what I don't get.
How can people be so studiously involved in Jesus stuff and not take the time to look at the options of beleif, to open their minds to all of the possiblities?
I have looked at several religions, but don't believe in one of them, although I am sort of drawn to Buddhism.

9. My standard reply to this argument of good and evil
You look forward to living for eternity under the watchful eye of this being who's concept of good and evil you cannot hope to fathom? And Hell is the bad place? You do know that God likes the smell of burning goats right?

Leviticus
1:10 And if his offering be of the flocks, namely, of the sheep, or of the goats, for a burnt sacrifice; he shall bring it a male without blemish.
1:11 And he shall kill it on the side of the altar northward before the LORD: and the priests, Aaron's sons, shall sprinkle his blood round about upon the altar.
1:12 And he shall cut it into his pieces, with his head and his fat: and the priest shall lay them in order on the wood that is on the fire which is upon the altar
1:13 But he shall wash the inwards and the legs with water: and the priest shall bring it all, and burn it upon the altar: it is a burnt sacrifice, an offering made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the LORD.
