4. That is one scary-ass mofo picture.
Is that normal? Have other presidents had a special inaugural seal? Bush seems to have a seal for everything.

Bush Tells Troops 'Much More Will Be Asked of You'

1 hour, 55 minutes ago Reuters

By Steve Holland

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President Bush told U.S. troops on Tuesday that "much more will be asked of you" in Iraq and elsewhere as three days of ceremonies marking his inauguration got off to a somber beginning.

Among the 7,000 people in the audience were troops wounded in combat, 75 family members of soldiers killed in Iraq and Afghanistan and as many as 80 winners of the Congressional Medal of Honor, the highest military award. The event was beamed to troop gatherings in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Bush told the troops that "much more will be asked of you in the months and years ahead."

"In Afghanistan and Iraq, the liberty that has been won at great cost now must be secured. We still face terrorist enemies who wish to harm our people, and are seeking weapons that would allow them to kill on an unprecedented scale. These enemies must be stopped, and you are the ones who will stop them."

14. Kind of resembles this photo

Caption:

The Deutsche Christen (DC) became the voice of Nazi ideology within the Evangelical Church (the Religious Right of their day). They proposed a church "Aryan paragraph" to prevent "non-Aryans" from becoming ministers or religious teachers. Most church leaders solidly supported the "Judenmission." Only a very few number of Christians opposed Nazism such as the "Confessing Christians" (a Church movement not recognized by the Protestant orthodoxy) headed by Dietrich Bonhoeffer. The support of Nazism by the majority of German Christians and German Christian leaders shows the danger of mixing religion with government.

13. I got a shiver up my spine when this picture came up on my monitor
This picture is unbelievably close to the images captured by Leni Riefenstahl who did those documentaries for Hitler.

18. good catch! think the photographer did that on purpose?
It's my wishful thought that the photogs who catch certain * moments are making a silent point. Kind of like Goya did. A small consolation, but it helps.
