That smirk of hers (Dr. Rice's) just drives me nuts ... brings out the worst in me.

4. Laura's voice
IS very unfortunate. If she has ever made any attempt to lose the West Texas twang, it didn't take. There's nothing "downhome" or "charming" about the way she talks. It's just sad.

"Dr." Rice, on the other hand, speaks as if she had elocution lessons growing up, as I'm almost certain she did from what I've read of her upbringing.

My favorite elocutionist growing up was Rep. Barbara Jordan. She sounded like the female voice of God. Even James Earl Jones couldn't stand in her presence.

6. I miss the eloquence and just plain
common sense of Barbara Jordan. She put up with zero horseshit. Imagine the pummeling she would have delivered to Rice. All the good ones leave us way too soon.
