On "Not One Damn Dime Day" what about Blue? |
|
What do people think about supporting Blue businesses only tomorrow? It seems that if you HAVE to spend money tomorrow, it should be in businesses that support progressive causes and donate to Democratic and progressive candidates.

I won't spend a single cent tomorrow. On Friday though, I'm going to make a stronger effort in spending $$ only at blue businesses. But I agree that if you have to spend money tomorrow, make it blue!

2. If you HAVE to spend money, by all means, choose blue. |
|
If you can, stall the purchase until Friday. Then, shop blue.

for a real national strike against business, it will have to be general and for more than one day. We could be placed into a position in the next four years where using general strikes will become the only way to fight an undesirable regime that controls military (deadly) power without bombs, guns, and bloodshed. Well organized strikes have worked in other nations along with marches and sit-ins. Imagine, if you will, a million strong march into any area with their own sack lunches for a day or two. No one could get to the stores or restaurants or even really want to try! It has been some time since this type of thing was done in the US but someone could study the best of plans both here and abroad and draw up tentative organizing. Rioting would be deadly, and the last thing we should want would be streets littered with dead Americans. MLK sounded the voice of pacifist resistance and some did die. Millions of pacifists who didn't resist in Germany and Europe (1939 to 45)died because of they didn't and could not organize to do so.

Never shop Red. It's as simple as that.
"Not One Damn Dime Day" is truly a dumb idea which isn't going to accomplish anything, especially if you just go back to WalMart on Friday as usual.

7. There's a good article on Costco in the Seattle Times this week. |

Costco is a Washington state-based business that not only donates to Democrats, but also treats their employees well. http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/pacificnw/2005/0116/cover.html
