On the eve of the coronation...thank you DU, Kos, talkingpoints, |

buzzflash, salon...etc. Thank you. I felt so alone during 2000. thought I was the only one who noticed the RW takeover and the stealing of the election. I needed all of you then. This time, I know that most of you are as concerned as I am. So, I'm more concerned about this country's politics but more confident that many of us will work for change. Thank you for being here.

I felt the same in 2000. The mainstream corporate media, which I was addicted to and trusted at the time, was telling me things I KNEW weren't true. As soon as * stole the election, their whole tone changed, and it was "Our President" this and "Our President" that...They literally changed overnight, showing extreme respect for a mentally deficient election thief! They had previously treated Clinton like dirt, of course. It was very frigtening when I thought I was the only one noticing.:scared:

In 2000, I spent the entire Florida debacle online in Salon's Table Talk. The Florida threads were the most astounding.....I'm not sure what to call them ...literature? I never read a book as suspenseful. Documentary? History in front of my eyes, all the reactions from all over the nation, nothing like it had been seen. 5000 posts a day minimum and skipping five hundred to keep up....Laws researched...opinions awaited...and then the shock, the unbelievable shock, when the Supreme Court committed treason and got away with it. A gasp across the country.
So I never thought I was the only one who noticed. Otherwise, I completely agree.

6. I used to browse those boards |
|
but since I wasn't a member I had no one to really discuss with what I felt. But even still I never liked the format of the board. In terms of message board formats I always felt it was one of the worst. DU's format is probably the best.

I felt a sense of being loneley in '00. I felt a sense of anger and real biterness made all the worse because of him blatantly stealing it. DU has helped me out through many tough days. It's been a rough year and it's nice to know there's support.
