1. Yeah, I know. That's why I'm not watching the freakies on TV n/t |
|
Edited on Thu Jan-20-05 12:50 AM by AllyCat
On edit--the freakies are the dopes supporting this ostentatious display. I applaud the protesters going there to try to make our voice heard. I'll protest in my city.

3. Yeah, you're right. Remember how we were surprised... |
|
...by those scenes in F9/11 showing egg-throwing and b* scurrying to safety from the protestors by gunning the motorcade? It'll the be same this time, only the protests will be even wider. TV cameras have to be pointed at a subject to register it, and lots of footage doesn't make it past the cutting-room floor.
The show is already scripted. Its title: "The Glorious Re-Coronation Of Our Beloved Leader Who Is Never Wrong and Protects Us From Terra-ists."
Pretty expensive for a bad movie.

4. Au contraire, there WILL be some shown |
|
They will:
1. have large puppets (the fringe area protestors/other city protestors)
2. be scruffy looking/fat/goth-looking/long straggly haired/have their faces scrunched up in an unattractive way
3. be in the process of being dragged away by police
4. be involved in an interview, in which they will be saying something very stupid (they will not air the interviews with the ones who make sense) a la "JayWalking".
5. have a small child who is crying (so they can be portrayed as bad parents for taking a child to a protest).
6. have banners/signs advocating gay rights/marijuana legalization/choice (so the whole group can be lumped together as "misguided anti family-values folks"..
etc :)

5. But we will be there-- and hopefully, in big numbers. |
|
I have my camera. And warm socks and gloves. What an adventure this will be and as for the MSM coverage, it will be interesting to see what they do cover. I have no hope or expectation frankly-- this way, whatever press we do get, will be a surprise AND considering how many of us will be there-- if it's riddled with fraud-- we'll know. We were there!

6. Best shot on cable is CSPAN |
|
They had some good protest shots last time. They have static cameras plus a few rovers--lots of coverage, lots of angles. And best of all, NO COMMENTARY from a mass of idiotic talking heads. You do have to listen to the call ins, but half of them are generally bearable.
