The Inauguration, oh cursed day, is my birthday. How do I Celebrate?
For quite a while I thought that my birthday present would be celebrating at Wes Clark's Inaugural Ball.

Then, well, I thought that I would at least have a good seat at Kerry's Inauguration.

But how oh how, do I deal with this disaster?

Even worse than that, I was born at the exact time that Truman was taking the oath.

And now, what a present for me. At the exact time of my birth, I get four more years of misery.

Depressing.<sigh>
What to do?

3. Thanks. I wish that it was that easy for me.
I worked so hard for Wes, then Kerry. This crowning brings up so many emotions.

But I will try to soldier on.....so...

I am buying myself a present tomorrow. I have already checked on it...personalized license plates..

08 CLARK

THAT will make me feel better!

:-)

4. I hear you. But I already did that in November.
I s'pose I'll re-dedicate myself January 20th...
And swear that, if I am living in 4 more years, I will be dancing at a ball in DC on my b-day.
Hopefully Wes Clark's.

7. You have a mixed emotions day ahead of you too.
Each year you can celebrate with your son, but be especially reminded that he carries on your father's legacy...and maybe that will help.

8. It is my daughter's 15th birthday, too.
Poor girl. The day she was born Roseanne Barr and Tom Arnold got married, and I thought that was a horrible thing on her birthday. This is worse.

Happy Birthday, phylla, and maybe pray for impeachment so you and my daughter can have something good to celebrate come next year this time.

11. Happy Birthday! Enjoy it, in spite of *.
Just a couple of suggestions, if I may:
Turn off the TV and radio. Listen to your favorite music. Take a bubble bath.
I don't know if this is in any way possible for you, but perhaps put off buying the Clark plates (cool idea!) for just one day to honor "Not One Damned Dime Day". There is a boycott to not spend any $$ in protest of the * coronation. That may be difficult for you to do on your day, understandably!
Welcome to the DU and Happy Birthday!

21. Hey I am always happy to meet another Clarkie
Probably the only positive result of my being so involved with Wes's draft and campaign is that I met so many diverse and wonderful people.( Including Wes several times):loveya: Heck, I even housed and fed one of his campaign workers for 7 weeks. ( :hi: Chris!)

This year I am centering my political involvement on our governor's race and our local House of Delegates race.....
Start from the bottom to build again...that is the only way.

We have such nutcases here in Va.

You might want to check out a new PAC called Virginia Family Values. It's sole purpose is to defeat 4 candidates in Va.-- Delegates Marshall (R), McDonnell (R), Albo (R), and Black(R).

These men either support eliminating birth control or support sodomy laws.

IMHO, they are all certifiably wacko.

Take a look!

12. Don't watch TV unless you put on a favorite DVD or VCR
If you're like me, you'd only be giving the tv the one-fingered salute anyway.

That will be my response, if the thing still fits.

I'll be putting a Kerry t-shirt underneath for optimal annoyance.

15. Just celebrate your birthday!
This is your day, despite what they are doing wrong in Washington, and elsewhere. It's not your fault. You did what you could, as we all did. Surround yourself with kindred spirits and just celebrate your day. I am also going to try to ignore the abomination that is taking place in Washington, despite the fact that we have young soldiers dying in an illegal and unnecessary war. Sorry, but I agree with you on all this. But, for just one day, put this aside, and celebrate like it was 1992!:D

Things like these seem to be the Burden of Aquarius, but we make some great jugglers, don't we?
