The single word that best sums up Bush's legacy? |
|
For me its either excessive or extreme. For an example you don't need to look any further than the Inauguration and its preparations. They pretty much symbolize what Bush's presidency has been about to this date. Two examples.
You'll see excessive access for and by the excessively wealthy and excessively priveledged. Look at who attended all these balls and parties and you'll see who benefits from Bush's presidency. It ain't us.
You'll see excessive or extreme fear which results in excessive steps in protection for a president who is unlikely to get out of his limo until he is completely protected from the people who elected him. (And speaking of protection, all of this protection really confirms for me, the truth of Bush jumping over people to join the National Guard to avoid going to Vietnam.)

Perspective of history and all that. Too close to say right now, and you can't talk about his "legacy" when he has another four-year term coming up (although I am not expecting that it will be positive).

a form of government in which power is concentrated in a DICTATOR or SMALL CLIQUE.
dictator--one who rules oppressively.
There is something dictatorial. megalomaniacal, and delusional when a ruler calls his self-crowning ceremony "a celebration of freedom" while the people he is governing are feeling oppressed, protesting his self-crowning ceremony, managed and prevented by crowd control police and military forces from expressing their view or entering the processional route of the demi-god crowning himself; and when the people in another he so delusionally proclaims to be bringing FREEDOM to are engaged in a savage war of anti-bush occupation.

freedom and reign are double-think New-Speak.
Reign and freedom are quite the opposite. Every reign leads to power abuse, and freedom is impossible, when there is a hierarchy of power which controll you.
War is peace.

Yes, one thing above all in my opinion. Is that besides his base. The haves and have mores. The elite. He has neglected the needs of all Americans and people of the world. Who do not belong to his Bu$h Family Evil Empire. And will destroy the United States in any case if we as a country continue to be neglected. The backbone of this country is the middle class. And Bu$h Inc. is destroying it. And spouting praise the lord all the freaking way. Peace Wildman Al Gore is My President

45. Vanity, in both senses of the word |
|
Hey,
That's my immediate response without looking at anyone else's. It's all about a self-absorbed nitwit who imagines he's presidential material-- what vanity! And too many voters who think that all other countries should worship us for our generosity and bravery-- what vanity.
And pissing away our financial security and international reputation in pursuit of a fantasy-- all in vain.
