Will Kerry vote to give the chimp the money? |

Why wouldn't he?
He voted to enable the chimp in the first place...

that of his equally well-off blueblood pals, instead of, once again, expecting Joe and Jane Q Public (that's you and me) to pick up the tab, and expecting US to all of this noble "sacrificing" he and Shrub and the others love to blather on and on about. God knows he's got enough money, and so does most of the rest of the fucking senate and congress that wouldn't know what the average American's life was like if God put them in hell and made them actually live it.

He also voted to give shrubby authority to attack another sovereign nation? Of course Gephardt can always do what he did on July 10 when the House of "Representatives" was voting on the rules changes to the overtime laws....
GEPHARDT MISSED THAT VOTE....he fails to vote on many issues where he could be taking a stand.

They seem to be in agreement on this issue, at least.
Kucinich would vote against, but he is not a top tier candidate.

And were with him when he did his BBC interview. How do you get so much access without being part of his campaign?
And if you are sincerely concerned about issues, then why are you trying to reinforce negative perceptions of the opponent Dean fears the most? You know, PUSHPOLLING people here on DU.

With a caveat that his vote is tied to UN support, or a clear exit strategy or something. He can't afford campaign wise to look like a Bush enabler right now. He seems astute as a politician and this would be a bad vote for his campaign.

They need to get Iraq on its feet quickly and there is no way that can be done now without spending the dollars.
I don't know how he's going to vote for sure, but, I'd be surprised if any of them except Kucinich would be FOR not spending the money necessary. It's consistent for Kucinich in that he wants total pullout NOW. The others are for staying with more troops, or staying with additional UN troops.
btw...We'd still be in Iraq with the Biden-Lugar version of the IRW. If it had passed, would that have made Dean an "enabler" in your view?

so hard to be elected to the presidency. They have voting records that are easily used against them.
I am for Kerry, but will feel offended if he votes yes on the $87 million. Unless he can convince me it is right I will be even closer to switching over to Dean.

Of course only after a thorough investigation by Congress on what the money is needed for.
If the money is needed than we have to supply it...because we allowed an idiot to get his war on. We destroyed the country and now it is our responsibility to fix it!
Kerry was an absolute fool for voting for the war...he'd be an even bigger one to now not financially support his decision.

Redeem yourself John. You helped get us into this war. If we are going to stay, we've got to pay.
Don't authorize the money unless it's paid for using current tax receipts. If that means scrapping the * tax cuts, then do it, dammit!

Why are you saying that? I would think getting the UN into this, giving up a little of our so-called power there to the UN, would be the right thing.

This morning on MSNBC. He said we can't leave which means we're going to have to spend the money. He didn't even suggest Congress put strings on the money, at least Kennedy did that. I hope Dean doesn't pretend he had a different position on this a month from now.

I just called both their offices-and my rep Mike Capuano's office as well-to express my displeasure at Bush's request.
I also mentioned to Kerry's admin that I was thinking of giving him my vote for President, but that if he votes for the 87 Billion, I will be voting for someone else.

30. If this is about money to rebuild Iraq |

then, yes, probably, and it's a yes vote I wouldn't have a problem with. At this point, we have royally fucked that country over, and if we just sit back and do nothing, we're going to look even worse than we do now (which would be extraordinarily bad).
As long as the money doesn't go to Halliburton for fat government contracts, I don't have a problem with it.
