Bill O' Reilly's Military Career
I think many people know that someone is offering a reward for anyone who can prove that O'Reilly saw combat in Central & South America. Does anyone know O' Reilly actually served in the military? I did not think he had served in the military at all. So did O' Reilly have a military career for any amount of time?

4. check Al Franken's website
http://www.airamericaradio.com/weblogs/alfrankenshow/index.php

there should be a link to bill o'reillys recorded conversation with someone calling him out about his "combat" experience.

look for: THE DAILY "AL FRANKEN SHOW" AUDIO HIGHLIGHT

Al Franken and Katherine Lanpher present “Sergeant Bill O’ Reilly’s Tales of Combat.”

14. This man has lost his mind.
I really think he has.
He has some sort of God-complex like Bushie and thinks he is the only truth that matters.

Creepy! :scared:

5. He was not in the service.
Edited on Thu Jan-20-05 10:42 AM by LibInTexas
According to the bio on the Fox site:
Later he became a CBS News correspondent covering the wars in El Salvador and the Falkland Islands, among other assignments.

Townhall.com adds:
where he reported on the wars in El Salvador and the Falkland Islands from his base in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

So, as near as I can tell, his "combat" experience could have been in El Salvador. No doubt most of his reporting was done sitting in a hotel bar in San Salvador, and walking outside to shoot his stand-ups.

6. O'Reilly is a 2 Time Draft Dodger !
Edited on Thu Jan-20-05 10:49 AM by stewert
O'Reilly did not serve in the military. He dodged the draft 2 times to avoid Vietnam and the draft extension bill. The 1st time he went to school in London to avoid the draft, the 2nd time he took a teaching job in Florida to avoid the draft extension bill known as the Mansfield Amendment.

7. What a Jerk
Then I suppose by this definition Al Franken has "combat experience" because of his USO tours to Iraq.

8. read this great book
'The I hate Coulter, O'Reilly, Limbaugh, Savage and Hannity Reader'. (edited by Clint Willis)

it gives you a great insight into that finest of republican traditions: sending young kids to war without having served 1 minute yourself. it features True American Patriots like Hannity, Limbaugh, Krauthammer, Kristol and many many more.. you'll like it.

10. he's just confused, it could happen to anyone
I personally have experienced false recovered memories...boy, did my husband ever hesitate before telling me that I was indeed NOT a past winner of a Golden Globes award...I didn't take the news too well, either. And then there was that falling out we had when he informed me I had never even been to Viet Nam, much less piloted a helicopter. Man, that's the kind of thing that can cause a huge marital rift.

16. o reilly's career...
he has a career in putting democrats on his show that don't stand up to him and shut him up. the one time he did he got so mad that somebody challenged him and made him think that he had him thrown off and if bill o goofy ever had a career before being on fox it was do you want fries with that? He couldn't handle 1 day in the military, even in his prime. He would have been kicked out so fast he wouldn't have had time to blink.

18. During the Falklands
Bill did throw a tantrum that got him fired.

He gives a hillarious Mary-Sue account in Those Who Trespass where his story is he punched a senior reporter after slugging an Argentine cop for trying to take video of a riot.]

The truthfullness of this story is up for question since TWT is fiction... like 99% of what O'Reilly has said.
