Does this Mean BushII To Will Resign

CBS Poll: No Second Honeymoon

<snip>
As President Bush heads into his second term, a CBS News/New York Times poll finds a widespread feeling among Americans that the nation is headed in the wrong direction and little expectation that Mr. Bush's policies will change things over the next four years.

Even Richard Nixon — just a year and a half before he was forced to resign the presidency — fared better than Mr. Bush with an approval rating of 51 percent when he took his second oath of office in January 1973.

2. Bush makes Nixon look like Thomas Jefferson.
Approval numbers don't mean shit to these guys. Public support is nice if the peons are stupid enough to offer it, but it's hardly essential when they've got a Republican Congress. If the Republicans lose Congress, and the people actually make some noise, Bush could be in big trouble.

3. I'd love to see him resign, but the rest of them
need to go as well. As bad as Bush is, Cheney would be next in line, then Hastert, Ted Stephens, and Condi.

(note: not updated)
Prior to the ratification of the 25th Amendment in 1967, there was no provision for filling a vacancy in the vice presidency. When a president died in office, the vice president succeeded him, and the vice presidency then remained vacant. The first vice president to take office under the new procedure was Gerald Ford, who was nominated by Nixon on Oct. 12, 1973, and confirmed by Congress the following Dec. 6.

The Vice President Richard Cheney
Speaker of the House John Dennis Hastert
President pro tempore of the Senate1 Ted Stevens
Secretary of State Colin Powell
Secretary of the Treasury John Snow
Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld
Attorney General John Ashcroft
Secretary of the Interior Gale A. Norton
Secretary of Agriculture Ann M. Veneman
Secretary of Commerce Donald Evans
Secretary of Labor Elaine Chao
Secretary of Health and Human Services Tommy G. Thompson
Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Alphonso Jackson
Secretary of Transportation Norman Yoshio Mineta
Secretary of Energy Spencer Abraham
Secretary of Education Roderick Paige
Secretary of Veterans Affairs Anthony J. Principi
Secretary of Homeland Security2 Tom Ridge
NOTE: An official cannot succeed to the Presidency unless that person meets the Constitutional requirements.
1. The president pro tempore presides over the Senate when the vice president is absent. By tradition the position is held by the senior member of the majority party.
2. May move to number 8 on the list pending legislation.

6. Yes it does.
I went and verified it after watching the hearings...one of the committee members had said it. It's true.

4. I don't think Bush will ever leave the White House
.... in my morose thinking and fear ... something is going to happen to keep him in the white house .... world war, US Constitional change, some other kind of disaster ... but martial law will come first.
