The Parlock-ing of Michael Moore? Bodyguard story bogus?
Another alert DUer found a story linking the names of the man arrested at JFK airport who CLAIMS to be Michael Moore's bodyguard. A man with the name Patrick Burke penned this story recently:

Although George W. Bush may be Michael Moore’s greatest enemy in an ideological sense, there is no doubt that his term in the oval office has made life a little more comfortable for America’s favorite malcontent. For as much as he portrays himself as a stoic crusader for the politically alienated, Moore’s films, books, and books to accompany his films are hardly free. It is unlikely that Moore appears on The Daily Show or any cable news programs charitably either. This is not to say that Michael Moore is a complete fraud. There is no reason Moore cannot capitalize on his beliefs without sacrificing his sincerity. Nevertheless, there is some tension in the fact that, while Moore’s art is overtly revolutionary, Moore the artist has flourished off the status quo. The question becomes: How will Michael Moore’s highly lucrative, mildly parasitic relationship with President Bush evolve in the latter’s second term?

So this same person, or someone else with the same name, or (least likely) Michael Moore's bodyguard (?!), penned a talking points story about how Moore is a sell-out and lives too comfortably and all the usual crap. Something ain't right with this picture.

Has anyone else seen this bodyguard story from a source other than Faux News? Faux getting duped could be an interesting counter-story.

1. So?...Rudy Giuliani and Bernie Kerick
capitalized on 911. Rudy, especially, is a multi-millionaire many times over and yesterday his new 4 million dollar apartment was shown on tv. I don't hear this newspaper complaining about that! Please email that smart remark to them.

Why shouldn't Micahel Moore earn money for his work? At least he has DONE some work. He's not just getting corporate checks for cheating the taxpaying public.

It's apparently ok if Republicans do it, but if Democrats do it it is dead wrong. Whatever the hell "do it" means at the moment.

edit to add:
Parlock - a verb, meaning to stage an event and steer the news coverage in such a way as to smear one's opponents. The truth comes out later but gets only 1/12th the attention of the bogus story.

Fox News ran a story this morning with a misleading headline, stating that "Michael Moore's Bodyguard Arrested on Airport Gun Charge" The body of the story actually says "Police took Patrick Burke, who says Moore employs him,"

The author of the above BS is also (or also named) "Patrick Burke." So what I am suggesting is that these two are the same person. Burke gets picked up on a gun charge at JFK and smears Moore by saying that he works for him.

4. In the italicized news snip you provided, it contained a smear on Moore
capitilizing on his movie and his tv appearances. If this was not important to the writer of the story (the perhaps faux bodyguard) and to the paper that reprinted it, it would never have seen the light of day. That is why I thought it appropriate to comment on the content of that story.
