Whoa...I was just out at two stores...
Edited on Thu Jan-20-05 01:23 PM by vi5
I'm sure it's unrelated but I was in Home Depot and Best Buy just browsing, and there was next to nobody in either store. Keep in mind this was between 12 and 1 during lunch and usually one would have to wait in a 15 minute line at both places just to check out on most days. Weather is fine so that's not a factor. It does make you wonder if this "not a dime" day thing is actually being put into practice as far as impact.

7. No, Americans really don't care all that much about
"boring political stuff" on tv.

I can't fathom why the stores were empty - but I can't be sure it's because of 'not one damn dime day'.

We're waiting 'till tomorrow to buy our new TV.

I saved my Subway "free sub" for today,
but I forgot that I still had to buy a drink.

Oh well, Only Ten Damn Dimes Day is still pretty good...

6. Let's be optimistic for a change
Maybe it is working.

My wife took her lunch to work, as did almost everyone she works with.

I'm not leaving the house at all today.

8. I'm afraid I needed milk and eggs
but that's all I got.

The grocery store was quiet, but the weather is bad and that's probably the reason.

9. I need soymilk and can't go get some because of
no damn dime day but, I will just have to be creative and figure out how to live without it for a day. Cereal this morning was very dry. If I drank regular milk I would ask my neighbor for some but oh well.

14. How can you stand that stuff?
My grandson drinks it because the little guy has food allergies. He also snarfs down soy yogurt. I don't know if I could drink that stuff under those circumstances even--the smell just deters me.

15. Don't knock it until you've tried it.
I buy soy milk in vanilla or chocolate. It's just like drinking a milk shake.

so they wouldn't be tempted to buy anything. I quit making lunches years ago but I wanted to make sure. Domestic cally...lol
