"Freedom" has joined "States Rights" as a Right Wing code word
During the civil rights era "States Rights" came to stand for "White Supremacy" for those who uttered it.

It was the right's way of putting lipstick on a pig and making their sinister policy goals sound palatable.

Their new code word is "Freedom" or "Freedom and Democracy."

"Spreading Freedom and Democracy" is right wing newspeak for using the military to further U.S. hegemony and imperialism.

2. You know, that is to true...
I been reading this series of books by Harry S. Turtledove about a alternate history of the United States, where the South won its independance. It is up to 1941, where the United States and The Confederate States are now fighting against each other in WW2. The Confederacy is in the power of Fascists, calling themselves the Freedom Party, and there slogan is "FREEDOM!!!". It seems to real today.
