Don't say: "It's the Economy AGAIN, STUPID," .....
Instead, say "It's ALWAYS the Economy, IDIOT."

SURE it sounds mercinary, but this county is LOUSY with mercinaries: Corporate, Political, Advertizing, Marketing...you name it. And the ones that aren't active duty Mercinaries are "wanna-be's."

So what do MERCINARIES respond to? MONEY. Nothing else. MONEY.

This is a quote from "dumentia.com." This guy makes up the "Seven Deadly Sins" as motivational posters: I have "WRATH" over my desk in honor of my ghastly and legendary bad temper. I think we should tatoo this one on a loved one's forehead so we can't forget it:

Text: Look at that house. Pretty nice, eh?
You’d like to own something like that, wouldn’t
you? Don’t forget the reason you’re working
here. Money. It’s not about doing a good job or
showing up on time. Those are things you do
to keep making money. Cash. Moolah. That’s
why you’re here.

The point is that the only way we are going to hit the general populace where they live is in the pocketbook. The reason they voted for the Bushites is that they figured that the rePukes would now gut the government and stop them using any of the MEDICARE/MEDICAID-SSN surplus on any of those "undeservringlazybastardswhoaren'tmembersofmyethnicorsocialgroupanyway," so to tell them that we need to feed/house/clothe the needed, medicate the sick or help the broke is going to elicit this reaction:

"I GOT PROBLEMS OF MY OWN, SO FUCK THOSE GUYS."

People, they don't want compassion; they want COMPENSATION. The first line of the National Anthem is NOT "Oh Say Can You See," but "SHOW ME THE MONEY." If we don't show them how much RAW CASH the rePukes will cost them ALL THE GOD DAMNED TIME, IN WAR AND PEACE, THEN WE WILL LOSE. Democratic Party Policies ALWAYS are more cost effective: we're the party of POOR PEOPLE, REMEMBER? It's time we started showing the REST OF THE HERD that doing the best thing for ONE of us is the most cost-effective way to do for ALL OF US.

A school or a clinic costs less than a prison or a jail. A public works project costs less than a war. And both of these employ more Americans.

1. Yes and no
I have as low an opinion of my fellow man as anybody; but this seems a little self defeating to me. The truth is that many people do vote based on their values. Sure some go into the polls and vote straight self interest; but that's not everybody.

I do like the idea of putting forward the idea that we aren't crazy unrealistic dreamers (because we're not!) but that our ideas are practical and will cost us less in the long run; but that should be tied to the idea that we have an idea of the America we want to live in.

I mean I think that is part of the appeal of a Reagan or a Bush 2; they make Americans feel good about themselves. As hard headed as they pretend to be sometimes, I think it really comes down to that. So we liberals need to paint a picture of the compassionate reasonable America we want to live in.

3. During the Reagan years, I'd have agreed with you: not now.
People are broke and worried, at least those smart enough to be worried in the first place. I don't see a lot of flag waving and Bush-pushing around here lately. I figure that fear is going to be the currency the rePukes bank on this time.

Anger? They can't deal with anger, at least when it is directed at their sacred cow: THE CASH COW. I remain convinced that "feel good/do-gooder" politics won't work this time. There is REAL trouble in River City, and Professor Harold Bush is trying to sell us his band. We need the public to tell him NO SALE.

This is where the buck STOPS.

4. Well, A mixed approach
Is best. I agree that many people will vote with their wallet, but if we present a plan that is both the smart thing to do and the right thing to do, than they can vote with their wallet and their hearts. That's two votes right there (well not really).

It will also help with many of the tertierary aspects of the campaign; fund-raising, volunteers and so on, who often are motivated by principles.

2. How about..... "Where is the Money"
Where is the money? A pretty good question but America is too dumb to ask.
