I will not hide behind the anonymity of a user name. Bush lost the election that preceded to his first term, and was appointed president in contravention of the will of the majority, so his very participation in the 2004 election was based upon the false premise that he was the incumbent. During his first term he and his administration did far more damage to America, at home and abroad, than any president in my memory. He represents the worst aspects of human nature, and applies those faults as his underlying principles of government. Venality, dishonesty, selfishness, brutality, and bigotry are his moral foundations.
His second term was won by means that were at best suspect, and I don't mean just the allegations of vote fraud. Bush and his team are masters at manipulating perception, making Bush-- a brutish, stupid little man-- appear "homespun" and "charming" while he fleeces America and further enriches his real "base." He reaches for lies first, as a reflex, and uses the truth only to further twist reality. He is a one trick pony whose stock in trade is the cheap, straight-faced falsehood.
During his second term his administration and the toady Republican majority in Congress has promised to continue their assault on America, and to continue to export their ugly corporate and nationalistic fascism anywhere they can hope to control the world's resources for their own profit. They create misery wherever they go. Their primary instruments of both domestic and foreign policy are fear, violence, death, poverty, hunger, and disease. They have unmasked the war on poor people because they believe their power to be truly manifest destiny, and have no concern even for the appearance of fairness.
George Bush is not my president. He will never be my president. He can strut and posture all he wants in Washington, but allegiance resides in the hearts of those who are well led, and my heart is forever closed to George W. Bush.
