So far (4:57PM EST), I have made no purchases of any kind... |
|
...today, drove only six miles in my car, turned my heat down so as to use as little electricity as possible and have watched no TV or MSM and listened to no news coverage of the coronation. I plan to watch some DVDs from my collection tonight and continue working on-line at home this evening. That is my contribution to the Inaugural Boycott.
P.S. Does flushing the toilet count as consuming activity? If so, let it go on record that I had a major dump at 12:18PM EST which was right around the time Bush was scheduled to take the oath of office and give his speech. I hope 150 million other Americans joined me in that salute to the C of C at the same time.

1. Neither did I. In fact, because I forgot to buy dinner for tonight, I had |
|
to improvise. It's rice and beans and cut-up hotdogs.

is leaving my pocketbook today. I have to admit to watching C-Span coronation coverage and couldn't take the day off but have been working at a decidedly slower-than-usual pace. Hope plenty of others have taken a consumer holiday as well.

6. Same here. I've had a fire in the fireplace all day to knock the |
|
chill off. Dressed in black from head to toe and only drove to take and pick my kids up from school. I noticed a couple of teachers dressed in solid black, also, but they are in the minority of those who voted for bush**.

|
too many appointments. but i am head to toe in black. i went home for lunch. got an email from terry mccauliffe asking for money & laughed at how out of touch he is to send that crap around on "not one damned dime" day.
yesterday, i told the folks organizing tonight's vigil/protest that if they wanted me to buy anything for the event, they'd better tell me before 9pm because i wasn't going shopping for it tomorrow.
but, i did give $35 to the guy who comes through my neighborhood frequently to do some yard work, but i know he's NOT a bush supporter. does that count against me or do i have to do the whole thing over again tomorrow? ;)

Though horribly tempted to buy a Diet Pepsi today at work to ward off the mid-afternoon slump, I refused. I had to work, so gas was consumed, but not even a penny came out of my wallet today!
