1. Forest was at least a man of honor................
he may have been a bit slow witted but he had a good heart and was a man of honor and class. bush has none of those good qualities, while being more dim witted and dishonest.

2. How dare you insult Forrest Gump!! Dubya is evil and Forrest is good.
Edited on Thu Jan-20-05 08:20 PM by jody
Forrest had compassion for all and was not driven by greed.

My favorite lines from Forrest Gump are:

QUOTE

Forrest Gump : Will you marry me?
(Jenny turns and looks at him)
Forrest Gump : I'd make a good husband, Jenny.
Jenny Curran : You would, Forrest.
Forrest Gump : But you won't marry me.
Jenny Curran : You don't wanna marry me.
Forrest Gump : Why don't you love me, Jenny? I'm not a smart man, but I know what love is.

UNQUOTE

Dubya will never know what love is.

5. In terms of "chance",...yes. In terms of heart/spirit/ethic,...no.
Did "chance" lead to GWB's position rather than the "merit" that this society supposedly advances?

ABSOLUTELY!!!!

Has gwb'S heart/spirit/ethic somehow made his "fortunate" success a viable "justice"?

NO FREAKIN' WAY!!!!

6. The immense popularity of that movie presaged...
the ongoing "dumbing of America"... the results of which we see more clearly today in terms of the quality of our political leadership: Bush, Scwarzenegger, etc.

Where will it end ? Who knows.. probably w. nuke-ular annihilation growing out of the Eye-rack or ( upcoming ?) Eye-ran adventures.

17. That movie reflected "reality".
Only a DUMB person would "dumb" down such human reality.

Only a "pie-in-the-sky", "Pollyana", control-freak would demean the REALITY that "Forrest Gump" depicts.

If you are seeking some END,...you are IT!!!

9. No. Forrest Gump was a caring person who
thought of others before himself. There is no resemblance to the * at all.

14. "Stupid is as stupid does"
Forest Gump quoting his mama from a park bench. Fits Bush quite well actually. But Gump was merely stating a fact. Bush puts it into action every day of the week.

19. Bush is "stupid" about the value of human life and potential.
The "character" of Gump (and, quite frankly, the majority of human beings) have a very clear understanding of the value of human life and potential. That's how we survive tyrants like George W. Bush.
