25. I think that is a built in belt on the dress.
I remember the designer's drawing having a thin belt around the waist. I thought then that it looked wrong for her ample figure. I didn't even think about the stupid vertical line in front from the button placket or zipper or whatever that is.

4. Yeah
At least she's wearing better "foundation" garments than the other day. Her tummy is tucked in a little more and her bustline is higher and more even.

12. Why didn't the designer refuse to allow someone with an ample
figure (face it, middle age is coming for all of us, girls) wear their dress without the proper undergarments? It reflects badly on the designer not just pickles-everybody knows she has no class. My personal fashion sense dictates that if you can see bulges, it's too tight, IMHO.

21. She's chubby.
She wore a tight fitting, shiny dress in the wrong color. The dress was not becoming to her full figure. How's that? More PC.

The truth -- straight forward.

Laura looked awful. There was nothing wrong with the dress. And she is not unattractive. It's just that the dress was not right for her. Chubby women can be very beautiful, but they have to know how to dress to accentuate their best qualities.

Laura does not have enough silver/gaey in her hair to wear that much silver/gray in her dress. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that her eyes are brown, not gray. The color of her dress would have looked stunning on Laura's mother-in-law who has a lot of gray hair. Laura needs to see a professional colorist. She can certainly afford it.

Laura's hair looked great.

As for Jenna -- her dress was well cut for her figure, looked good with her strong shoulders, however, she should have chosen light green. Dark green overwhelms her. In contrast, Barbara's dress cut was bad. She has a kind of round look with sloping shoulders. That dress cut made her body look like the peanut butter oozing out of a peanut butter sandwich. She looked weak.

After writing my first e-mail, I read that Laura has actually lost weight. The dress, however, made her look as though she had gained weight. The dress was a mistake. I stick by my statement.

27. I think you hit the nail on the head.
Edited on Fri Jan-21-05 09:50 PM by Ilsa
I think she has a lovely face and her figure is fine, especially for her age, but that dress didn't flatter her figure. The dress appears to have a thin belt, too, according to the designer's drawing.

Silver looks nice on her but it is too much silver, and she looks like she's just had her hair done with lovely light brown and gold tones.

I couldn't figure out what was wrong with Jenna's dress until you told us, and ITA. And Barbara's dress color was a washout. Barbara's hair was nice, but Jenna should learn how to put hers up for special occasions. I did when I had long hair.

Poor Barbara. Her dress made her look like a flat-chested twelve year old. I think she would have looked better in the "bar code" dress that Jenna wore the night before.

Possible Overall Problem: When you have as much money as you want for things like clothing, you don't bother learning what really looks good on you. Women with limited funds for apparel learn quickly not to waste money on stuff that makes them look bad.

Oh yeah, and I would have changed her lipstick to a more rose color versus the harsh deep red she has been wearing. It makes her lips look thin.

28. You are so right.
If you have endless money, you can wear something once and then throw it away. My sister knew a very wealthy girl in college who threw away things rather than wash them.

20. Why? Just because you say so?
You may think that she looks fine, but I respectfully disagree. You could show a movie on her behind and the dress that she is wearing just makes it appear worse. Pulling the dress in, which appears to be lower than her natural waist and just above her wide pelvis, only accentuates her out of proportion body.

I'm a much smaller woman that Miz Laura and I wouldn't have worn that dress without some major changes in it.

Maybe next time she should choose something that flatters her full figure instead of outlining it.

24. Geez. Get a load of the first lady in sequined Marilyn Monroe dress...
...Republican style: long sleeves, below knee slit, shoulders covered. But she is much older than Marilyn (36) at President Kennedy's birthday party. Mrs. Bush is too OLD and wide of hip to be wearing a sequined tube dress.

MM (a democrat) must be turning over in her grave.

26. Laura chooses these skin tight dresses
that amplify her aging body. It is the wrong choice for her age.

She just looks like an aging woman trying to compete with her daughters, or trying to recapture her youthful figure.

Lines of her undergarment are visible, her belly is sticking out, her ass is sticking out, and her bosom looks like it is taped, as well as the very fat upper arms are also uncomplimentary and ugly
this woman is an embarrassment to this designer in these ostentatious, horrific clothes. She just looks fat and dowdy, not svelt as she appears to think she is.

She chooses to dress this way--no excuses as to her looking just fine, because she does NOT look just fine.

the jewelry is not bad--I wonder how much that little necklace cost.
