A Democrat is a Republican who got leprosy at the Bush installation
Leprosy is a disease caused by the bacterium Mycobacterium leprae. Leprosy affects the skin, the nerves of the hands and feet, and can cause problems in the eyes and nose.

In South Texas and Louisiana, the common armadillo carries this bacterium. It is, however, not known whether the armadillo can vector leprosy to humans.

At the Texas State Society's Black Tie and Boots Ball, the partygoers were given the opportunity to play with four or five armadillos.

Leprosy is a curable disease. One of the NGOs that treats leprosy says they can purchase enough drugs to cure one person's leprosy for $150. Republicans don't go to that kind of a doctor, so their leprosy would probably cost $1500 to cure. Don't worry, anyone who can come up with the cash to attend the Black Tie and Boots Ball has $1500 in their cookie jar.

But will we see an influx of people into the Democratic Party who, when asked why they joined, will proudly state "I was a die-hard Republican until I paid $2500 for them to give me leprosy at a Bush inaugural event"?
