Media Coverage of Protests - please contribute..
I just got back from the Portland protest, good turnout! We got local MSM coverage...

http://www.katu.com/news/story.asp?ID=74302

They say 2000 protesters, and that was my conservative est. Lots of people taking pictures so I should be able to find some posted somewhere..

I yelled back at Shrubbies who were being rude, and we chanted, and the drums were awesome! You can hear those things echoing between the buildings all over downtown!

I counted AT LEAST 300 different tinfoil hats!! Some were brilliant!

2. Inagural Protest on Headline News...
Edited on Thu Jan-20-05 11:25 PM by Viva_La_Revolution
They told us all about the chimps speech and they showed the dancing clip and talked about the balls...

They covered the ONE (? Really! awesome) scuffle with the cops and only a few people arrested. Names and charges have not been released, of course.
They talked a bit about other cities.. New Orleans, WA State, and 1-2 more.

They reported more than I thought they would..

4. Thanks, Revolution...
I was with you in spirit tonight in Portland. We cancelled plans to come to Pioneer Square to see a movie preview. I hope we can survive the next four years, but with people like you and the views you represent, I know we'll be OK!

6. Typical Faux News soundbites....
Protesters Rally Against Bush
The procession of cars sped up as President Bush (search) neared the designated location for protesters on Pennsylvania Avenue (search). Two rows of police lined the street in front of the main protest site. Officers stationed atop buildings along the route kept close watch on the crowd.

Boos rained down from the crowd and some demonstrators shouted, "No justice, no peace." In some places in the protest area, the crowd was about six rows deep.

Three blocks from the White House, protesters tried to rush a security gate and a flag was burned. Police briefly locked down the area, trapping some 400 to 500 spectators.
