My Day in Washington, D.C.
After a long (and f***ing cold) day, I was driving my small car of seven people (I ended up taking more people home than I brought...long story behind that). We're listening to the radio and hear that maybe a small, isolated group of 'two thousand people' protested today.

WTF?!?! How the HELL did they play that one DOWN?! There were protestors EVERYWHERE!

There were more protestors than supporters. Those weren't cheers during the parade. We were booing and jeering as loud as we could. Not many Bush supporters around us, really. (don't know about the rest of the route...it was hard enough to get ON the route to start with)

How many protesters? A whole damn lot. Many more than I could count. MANY more than two thousand. (The immediate area I was in was decked out in Kerry-Edwards gear in protest *woot!*)

Down the road from us some people were arrested. I don't know if they were released or not yet.

There had to be more protesters than supporters. I only MET with protestors, and I was nowhere near the two organized anti-war areas (I was a bit weary to get close, but I decided I would be well off with the Kerry-Edwards-clothed folks. (I have pictures, but I'll have to get them developed. *sigh* No digital camera for me...)

Police were very voliatle. They were trying to provoke us and scare us. (they were just looking for an excuse to hit us upside the head and arrest us, probably to masqarade us as 'violent protestors' that are dividing the nation)

DON'T believe what the media says. We were there in GREAT numbers. We were loud. And we made ourselves heard. Bush heard us, even if he ignored us.

Some of the wonderful people I've met today...I feel much better, that as long as there are those who are willing to take to the streets and protest, there is some hope for our country.

2. Thank you Timebound!
I wish I could have been there, but being broke and in Massachusetts it wasn't possible. I watched the protest on CSPAN all day - you guys were great! :hi:

Thanks again - it's great to hear from people who were actually there, than what they want you to believe on the TeeVee.

7. Hey...CNN covered the Bush Entourage hightailing it from the Protestors.
They didn't say how many there were but the numbers in the camera shots were huge to any viewer tuning in. The best part was when they showed how the limo's sped up and the Secret Service were actually having to run to keep up with the Chicken Hawk Bushco who were speeding away from the American "non-paying" public there to protest his policies.

Even though they downplayed it...the cameras were rolling and pictures don't lie. We saw it all. They can lie all they want about the numbers and they have and will, but what happened today was important.

I broke my MSM Boycott to watch the Parade hoping to see the Protestors and got my reward even though I had to listen to the "barf." CNN covered it, I couldn't stomach Matthews on MSNBC..so who knows what they did. Wouldn't matter because Tweety is always in Bushies underwear anyway.

CBS and ABC also gave excellent coverage on the Network Nightly News.

Thank you for being there! Glad you got home safely even with the extra passengers you had to deliver..

10. Poor media coverage is what moved me to protest the war
and for my conservative Republican boyfriend to reject his party. Maybe it will change the minds of some unbelievers standing next to you?

It must be frustrating to see them lie, but we all knew they would do it. For anyone watching C-Span, the truth was as plain as day: more protesters than supporters, booers louder than cheerers, many, many unhappy people.

You made us all proud. I have not felt so uplifted in a very long time and those of you on the front lines made it happen. I went to my own community's protest, but it was anti-climactic compared to what you did. Everyone was talking about what YOU ALL did there!!!

Try to take comfort in what everyone here is telling you. We expected corporate media to lie. That's what they do. Your report means more than anything to us.

Thanks for being there!

11. I saw the coverage on ABC
It was plain as day that there were more people braving the cold to speak against shrub than there were people to support him. The ABC coverage was fairly critical, no doubt. They made comments that it looked like a military operation, not a parade. They said it looked "Banana Republic". They commented on the fact that the overall mood was angry, not the usual celebration. They showed cops spraying protestors with something for throwing objects at shrub's car.

I commend anyone who went out there today. I'm in Texas, and broke, so there was no way I could be there. I write letters and send e-mails in between work and managing two kids. I wish I could do more.

12. Thanks for going :-) I watched the parade part on ABC with jennings
at the desk with thy whores john roberts and cokie and some others scattered about the area covering "the news." Listening to what the whores were saying certainly did not jive with what I was seeing and hearing with my own eyes and ears. There were "Worst Ever" signs though out the crowds almost everywhere ABC cameras were filming. The whores insisted we were listening to the cheers of happy bush supporters in the back ground however if you tuned out the talkingheads and listened to the crowds, those were not the sounds of happy people. Media Whore's are thy name:grr:

Surprisingly enough ABC showed the Freedom Cage periodically and of course one whore reporter mentioned the negligible amount of protesters compared to the overwhelming numbers of supporters. He went on to mention that they were 'merely' against the war in Iraq, voicing their opposition and *yukyuk* by golly there will always be a few of those for every conflict. Now back to you Peter.'
Fucking Lying Whore is that dudes name! :nuke:

Even watching with ABC's own whore cameras you could tell there was a huge contingent of anti bush voices in attendance. I thought it was quite apparent despite what the whores were saying:thumbsup:

I was actually kind of surprised to see people with signs lining the streets all along the route and not in cages. That was shweeeet.

Good job y'all. Have some nummy hot cocoa :toast: help warm ya up;-)

14. Thank you for being there, TimeBound.
I watched on C-SPAN and ABC and it was obvious to me there were far more than 2000 protesters.

Hope you've had several hot toddies tonight.
