Does The Bible Predict President Bush Will Start WW3?
I'm not real religeous...But this is food for thought:

RNU.com – (Raiders News Update) - According to UPI Intelligence Correspondent Richard Sale, Bush administration hardliners are working on a plan to launch strikes against Syria in response to Islamic guerrillas crossing Iraq's borders to train and in some cases to fight alongside insurgency forces.
<snip>
Students of Bible Prophecy understand the significance of this language. Syria and Damascus are prophesied to become a heap of ruin in the last days. Babylon will also be destroyed and one-third of mankind will perish in a nuclear fire with another third dying from subsequent pestilence and famine.

According to Michael Drosnin's best selling book, The Bible Code, the Bible contains a hidden text that was first discovered by an Israeli mathematician, Dr. Eliyahu Rips, who presented his findings in a major science journal. The code foretold the Kennedy assassinations, World War II, the Holocaust, the Hiroshima bomb, the Moon landing, and one more thing: That in the "END OF DAYS" the "WAR OF BUSH" would involve "THE NATIONS UNDER ALL OF HEAVEN."

9. Perhaps not:
http://www.earthside.com/yellowstone.html

A massive eruption of the Yelowstone supervolcano would be catastophic for North America and would also result in years of freezing temperatures for the rest of the planet as volcanic dust and ash obscured the warmth of the sun.

11. The bush is worse.
A super volcano is an impersonal force of nature and it can't be reasoned with.
The bush on the other hand is in theory something one could reason with, providing the bush was bright enough to understand reason. (He's not!)
The bush will not allow anything like reason get in the way of his destruction of the globe.

4. It sure would make it easier to tell
If the bible presented such prophecies like this: In the year 2006 George W Bush initiated a war that engulfed the globe.

7. heh, funny you mention 2006
I was doing a biblical timeline from genesis, starting with adam as year 0. Using the genealogies in genesis you can track the years from adam up to the time of Christ. Noah Died in 2006 - the last of the kind from the era of adam and cain - with the flood and his death a new era began...

14. the point, even if fiction
Is that many (myself too) do not believe it to be - and sometimes people who don't believe to be false will use their power to try to make it real and have themselves play a bigger part in it (ala bush perhaps, or others).

These folks are the ones who want to bring about an end times like scenario to benefit themselves (because they only believe some of it). To wit - massive death and destruction, population goes down, those in power were prepared (because they caused it) and are in a position to use their resources to enslave the rest who make it through.

From a deeper conspiracy side of things one would say that perhaps many world leaders are all playing a game where we are the pawns, and when they have the things they need from us (who knows, science to extend their lives hundreds of years - ie using the little scientists and peons to make things they are not smart enough to) they get rid of us and have the earth to mainly themselves, with some slaves thrown in to do the work of getting them food and such.

Just rambling on as usual :)

20. A person looking forward to the end of the world makes a terrible leader
Its that simple. You don't need prophecy to create the danger. The simple disire for end times is enough to create a problem. If you believe this world to be disposable then you will not care for it and preserve it.

The trouble with reasoned approaches to disposing of the world is you cannot rely on divine providence to rid you of those that are not with you. You have to create the effect yourself. And gathering the individuals willing to help you do that becomes increasingly complex as their own personal attachments and social nature override your offers of power and wealth. Simply put a world domination scheme doesn't work without a fervant belief that the action is good. Convince people that what they are doing is good and beneficial for all those deserving and they will commit whatever attrocity you declare.

5. On a serious note though:
If prophecy were to state that such a war were to happen, and one took prophecy as truth from god, then it would not matter who the players were at the time - * would be immaterial in that sense.

Of course, there are some who think of things this way: We are akin to a series of artificial intelligence programs. The programmer knows the final outcome we will reach based on his run-time simulations, and warns us about these things - there are no concrete specifics (like names) because each run is a little different, but the outcome is always the same. The programs become intelligent and use science to destroy themselves.

At any rate, just some thoughts. More when asked for :)
